Your Proverbial Desert Island Decks

Note: I know bringing decks and books in a survival situation sounds quite impractical, but just humor me lol. After all, this is a Tarot forum. :))

Well that would depend on who you are, and I for one consider them essential survival items!  ;D, Are sure I can only take 5?

1.  Froud Faeries Oracle (non-tarot)

2.  Cosmic Tribe

3.  Victorian Fairy Tarot

4.  Tarot of the Sidhe

5.  Greenwitch Tarot

Book 1:  Companion book to the Cosmic Tribe

Book 2:  Tarot Interactions by Deborah Lipp

You really should let me pack at least 10.  I am not sure I can survive with only 5 lol.  Hopefully I will land on the same island as at least some of you so we can share books lol.

Suddenly that island is sounding like a vacation. Fellow readers to spend time with and a lot more decks and books around. As long as there are coconuts or something.  :P

How strange- a few years ago this would have been really hard. Now- I just don't have the same love for decks that I did. I love using my SS Marseille and Lenormand- but really I just don't read as much as I used to. Honestly- I would rather pack my paints and brushes if I was going to be stuck on a desert island these days.

Perhaps I am falling out of love?

This has happened to me too, but my passion for the Tarot always comes back, sometimes with a vengeance. I hope it's just a phase for you too, Penthasilia.

I have had the same happen to me....... I actually kind of felt ashamed about it, so thank you for sharing your experience with it as well.  <3 And you are right, EmpyreanKnight[/member] the passion always returned :)  I hope it is the same for you, too, Penthasilia[/member]  <3

I actually took about 2 to 3 year sabbatical from Tarot.  I kept my collection but did nothing with it and did not buy any decks, and lost touch with the forum.  I might have occasionally looked through a deck or something, but just did not have the motivation to do anything other than look at the pretty pictures.  And then one day a little over a year ago I decided to do a little journaling with Tarot and my love it was back in full force.  I think that like with most things in life sometimes you just need a break from it. Just don't do anything rash like sell your collection, in time you will most likely find you are just going through one of those phases.  Don't push yourself, just take the break.

The non-Tarot deck is already part of the five, so you would have to drop one of your Tarot decks to make room for it, Siavahda. ;)

...AND SUDDENLY IT GETS DIFFICULT.

Argh. Okay. Ummmm... Oh gods, I don't know. I guess I would leave...the...Tarot of Transformation. And the only way I can make that decision is by telling myself the ToT's cardstock wouldn't hold up on a desert island!

Swap out the ToT's guidebook for the Numinous'.

YOU ARE DASTARDLY, EK. DASTARDLY.

I finally ruined someone's day. I feel like I can rest for now - my job here is done. >:D

Sorta like in prison, decks and books are going to be our form of currency in that island. I hope we won't turn Lord of the Flies on each other tho. :o

Hmmm... I think my list would be

1. Slow Holler Tarot

2. Thea’s Tarot (hopefully it will not get ruined, or this island adventure happens after I get a reprint copy)

3. Minimalist Oracle

4. Story in Color Lenormand

5. Delta Enduring Tarot for a little peice of home

as for books...

1. 21 Ways to Read A Tarot Card

2. Delta Enduring guidebook

I feel pretty good about this list, all things considered  ;)
