Madame Squee Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Oh, yay! A brand new week! Madame Squee - Everyday Enchantment Tarot & Shabby Chicness Lenormand Thank you for the thread, VG! <3
EmpyreanKnight Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 It's the Tarot of Shadows by Sklyarova for me this week, VG. :)
VGimlet Posted August 4, 2018 Author Posted August 4, 2018 VGimlet - Grand Lux Tarot Another busy week where I barely touched my deck at all.
Bodhiseed Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 New Era Elements Tarot paired with the Tao Oracle. Thank you, VG. :)
Madame Squee Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Re: The Everyday Enchantment Tarot After months of deliberation, I finally ordered the Everyday Enchantment Tarot and received it yesterday. This is easily one of my happiest tarot purchases! One video reviewer compared it to a child's storybook, and I agree wholeheartedly. With every spread, the large, colorful images draw me into their stories, and I'm like a kid again -- I don't want to stop reading! (Please, Mom, just one more chapter...) Another thing that makes me happy -- the card stock. It's very similar to the no-glare treatment on new paperback covers. It feels soft to the touch and has completely eliminated the necessity to readjust the reading light to get a clear view of the images. I love it!
Bookworm Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Sounds lovely, Madame Squee. I'll have to give it a look. I'm in with the Tarot of the Crone again. It's starting to really have things to say to me. :)
EmpyreanKnight Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Just curious, Madame Squee[/member] . How is the companion book of the Everyday Enchantment like? I've had my eyes on the deck ever since I first saw some images years ago, nut I must be more careful with buying new decks now since I have so much more that I haven't even opened.
Queen of Nothing Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 I'm in this week with the Sinking Wasteland deck. Queen of Nothing - Sinking Wasteland
Madame Squee Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Re: Everyday Enchantment Tarot My study this week focuses on shuffling, pulling pairs, and looking for the "aha" moments... The Devil and Judgement qualifies this morning!
Madame Squee Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Just curious, Madame Squee[/member] . How is the companion book of the Everyday Enchantment like? I've had my eyes on the deck ever since I first saw some images years ago, nut I must be more careful with buying new decks now since I have so much more that I haven't even opened. Re: The Everyday Enchantment Tarot Hey EmpyreanKnight[/member], that's exactly why it took me so long to order this deck! ;) Even though I haven't read much of it yet (I try to explore new card images on my own before I start reading about them), I can say that I like this companion book. First, it's a soft cover book done in a landscape format (a little over 5.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide). As a result, it doesn't try to close up when I'm flipping through the pages, and it will lie flat on the table with hardly any persuasion. The paper is matte -- no glare. Next, the text is well organized in a thoughtful format. Each card has two pages, which face each other. A black and white picture of the card and a text box of its keywords (and correspondences in the majors) are included at the beginning of each card description. So, there is no flipping back and forth -- the picture of the card is always right there with its accompanying text. I also appreciate that the card descriptions are divided into three parts: The Image, The Story, The Meaning. (I can read what I want and skip the rest until I'm ready for it.) You can see images of a few pages on Amazon. Just be sure to hover over the image you've selected and click on it to enlarge it, so that you can actually read it. (Schiffer Books also shows the same images, but I can't find any way to enlarge them properly.) So far, I am enjoying Poppy Palin's writing and her comments. (I just love these cards so much! <3)
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Green Witch Tarot for AJ, thanks VG I'm eh about witch stuff and fairy stuff but my purchases of Green Witch and Victorian Fairy Tarot have hit home runs for me. Shows I'm never too old to widen my interests. What is next? Cat Tarot? don't think so :)

I thought Amazon only featured samples of the cards themselves, so this is new. Now heading over there to see the previews. :)
Bookworm Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I thought I'd post a three-card daily reading I did for myself with Tarot of the Crone, which I am loving. I used a spread posted by Cobweb[/member] . Where I am now: The Moon I keep changing my mind about what I want to do – not as far as a job, but more in terms of how I want to prioritize my time. I hear about something and think it sounds great, then I quickly tire of it and want to move on to something completely different. Where I want to be: Three of Swords – Inspiration Not the typical Three of Swords. From the book: “Within confusion I find my way.” So this is perfect – yes, I want to get beyond the confusing Moon to see a path forward. The figure on the card even resembles the Moon figure. How to get there: Three of Cups – Communion I love the way the two figures form the face on this card. The ability to merge your heart with another being, place or passion. To know and let yourself be known. So, the idea for me seems to be to continue on with what I have been doing lately, which is to really put my whole self into my relationships. This is where I will find my inspiration.
Bodhiseed Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I know the monochrome color scheme might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I've really enjoyed the New Era Elements Tarot this week. From the New Era Elements Tarot, the Father of Earth (King of Pentacles); from the Tao Oracle, 'Conflict:' Instead of a crown, this King wears a cap, and his cloak has been exchanged for work clothes. He could be the illustration for a Thomas Edison quote: "Most people don't recognize opportunity when it comes, because it's usually dressed in overalls and looks a lot like work." Young people often have visions of making big money by doing something that seems exciting, like being a rap star or an NFL quarterback. This man would tell them to work on finding their own talents and develop them, no matter what they might be. Just because a person isn't in the limelight doesn't mean he or she isn't successful. The Conflict card (hexagram 6) shows a clash of wills that can range from stubborn competitiveness to aggressive hostility. Padma suggests looking for the root of strife within ourselves before pointing any fingers. Both these cards seem to imply advice that is asked for and given yet is not received with open arms. The Father of Earth would probably laugh and say that there's no reason to get angry about it - time will tell the tale.
Bookworm Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Oh, I really like the look of that New Era Elements. It's going straight onto my wishlist.

Bookworm Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I love it! And I don't have any monochrome decks, so I also think I might actually NEED it. :D
