RavenOfSummer Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 I was wondering for those who have this deck, how do you feel it is for a beginner or for a learner? I feel so drawn to this deck...but I don't read Lenormand and literally don't know the first thing about the system or decks! So just putting some feelers out there :) Not like I don't have enough to learn since I still need to start working with my runes...I have an I Ching deck I need to learn to read with...
DanielJUK Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 I think it's really worth learning it, it's added to my divination. It's so useful for quick, to the point readings when Tarot / Oracles are better at getting deeper into it. Unlike Tarot, you don't have to learn a whole structure but you have to learn the basic idea of each card and how to use them in combination. Once you have picked up the system, it's easier than Tarot to use, you just use lines of combinations. The difficulty is that there are many different methods and it can be confusing but I think you have to find your own way, like Tarot method. So you do need to spend time to get the basic idea but then it's simple to use. You can do odd numbered spread readings (there should always be a central card traditionally) with it like 3 /5 or 7 cards across in a line or a 9 card grid and then there is the big Grand Tableau where all cards are used. I personally have found I prefer to do smaller spreads with it, it works so well that way for me. But it's really worth exploring it! It's totally different as a system to tarot. Plus some of the decks are so pretty :)
RavenOfSummer Posted August 13, 2018 Author Posted August 13, 2018 Thanks for your thoughts Daniel! Plus some of the decks are so pretty :) This is my whole motivation, lol :)) Ahh, what you say sounds kind of complicated! Though I appreciate that it's simple once you learn it...I should probably stick to one new divination system at a time. I do love that Clair de Lune deck though :)) But I for sure will explore it at some point, even if not now :)
