I was reading in the who's online section to see if it works like the one on the old atf.

so i was scrolling down and said to myself ohhh nice 3 guests creating accounts..

hmm

a guest is reporting a post to a moderator,,gee i wonder if that can be harassing , (aka some guest tries to report every post , or a members every post ) well i guess the little fang group can handle that..

then i saw this

Sending email to another member.

how can a guest send an email without logging in ?

Hi Holmes! I can't answer all of your questions as the admins have jurisdiction over them, but I can satisfy some of them and maybe clarify some issues you may be worrying about.

Regarding reports, while guests may report a topic or post, since I became a mod in January, no guest has ever reported against an existing member. Checking our mod reports, we haven't had a single one in the past 24 hours. The one you saw may be a bot which was intercepted by our software, but our tech admins would have to verify that. Rest assured that we have systems in place to prevent the harrassment of our members. :)

Also, while some parts of the site may be viewed by guests so that they'd have a sneak peek of what they'd be enjoying should they choose to join us here, the more private sections like the Tarot Reading subs (including exchanges, circles, spread interpretation threads), Journals, the Mentorship forum, etc are off-limits. So don't worry about your readings - only other members can see them.

Maybe they're members who appear as "Guest" because they're in stealth mode/invisible?

So... Do mods and admins have superpowers that enable them to see members when they're in stealth mode?

Rest assured that we have systems in place to prevent the harrassment of our members. :)

Thank you!  <3

I'm not sure but *probably* (the admins would have to confirm), the whoson feature was a big dodgy like the AT one because it's a pinpoint where someone is at that moment you load the page. So they could have the report form open as a guest but not go from there (a bot could have hit the report button but could go no further). Also perhaps they went to send a pm or inbox and would get a message to say you need to join the site to message members. So my speculation is that it's people on those pages but not doing those actions.

I have no idea how anyone can appear to be sending emails or messages - I just went on in another browser in stealth mode to test, and sent Dan a message - it did NOT say a guest was doing so, so....

Did get the message gregory :)

I think hidden just means you don't show up on whoson but guests are visitors without accounts.

There is a category called "Hidden" on the Who's Online list. So I think the guests are strictly those that aren't signed in or those that don't have accounts.
