Bodhiseed Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Two of Cups: In this card is an image of a formal English garden; several yards apart are two huge pots of flowers. Both the pots and flowers are similar, indicating a relationship between people who may enjoy the same hobbies, have the same goals, share the same beliefs, or endorse the same political party. What they have in common is the spark that can create an abiding friendship, partnership or romantic commitment. Likewise, the slim, pyramid-shaped garden ornaments between the pots may represent common friends who introduce the pair to each other. The formality of the garden suggests that this is not a "one of" encounter; this relationship will develop some roots and grow if given a chance by both people. On another note, this card may also tell of reconciliation between people. In this case, remembering their original common interests and goals may help them set aside their petty grievances and mend the relationship.
fire cat pickles Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 The Two of Cups is my card of the day. A marriage between two ideals, or a joining of two of anything pleasant can be the meaning apt for this card. This meaning fits in the what you have brought to our attention with the focus on the garden. Two of Cups (or two of hearts), "two hands," busy at work to bring about a thing of beauty and perfection. This is Venus in Cancer after all. Its ultimate goal is glorification of splendor. If one uses reversals, we should be careful not to fall into the trap of allowing co-dependence to take over. Or, a hobby can just as easily turn into an obsession. Upright, light and shadow in a pleasant and carefully balanced interplay of softness and tension on the landscape. In our lives, this plays out into what you have already mentioned, also, an importance not only for one to have a hobby to contrast with one's profession, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy;" in addition, to have friends to share the same interests and time with. In my personal time today, I was thinking of skipping out on training tonight as I have a busy schedule tomorrow. With the above ideas of this card, I know now that this is ill-advised. It is important that I socialize and share my interests outside of work with those who are close to, interests and hobbies that are outside of my professional life.
