Tattoo Tarot: Ink and Intuition

OK Flaxen made me do it.

Heads up - yes it's VERY pretty. But while the card stock is good, it is thickish and easy to crease.

I love the TdM-ish style art; not a fan of the card stock, though.

The box sure is beautiful.

All in all, I'm glad it's part of my collection.

Shame the cardstock isn’t great - I love the style...

I received this deck this week and I absolutely love it. I’m currently living in a wonderful tarot bubble - just like in the 80s - so have no idea what people think of decks right now and I have to say I had NO qualms with the cardstock. I thought it was a beautifully produced set and am very happy with the whole thing. I hope this publisher does more tarot decks. And it has a wonderful vintage tattoo feel to it. I love Eight Coins’ Tattoo Tarot, but while hers is more contemporary in its tattoo design, the Ink & Intuition referred to here has that exquisite old school tattoo feel. Makes me think of Marseilles Sailors or 1930s convicts. Stunning artwork and all these lovely little squiggles and pointers on the non-scenic minors to nudge you towards meaning. I adore it. Someone’s coming round for a reading tonight and I think I’ll give it a test drive.

That looks to be a really good reading deck.  It is not quite so stark as your usual Marseille style deck.  Even l could read with this l feel, love the colours and the images, each card seems to say quite a lot. It would certainly get my intuition flowing.  Now l have to see if l enough finances to buy this deck, oh dear, here l go again getting severely tempted yet again ;D

Good luck Le Fanu with your reading tonight, do share how it went with this deck.

Can anyone give details on the cardstock- why it is loved versus hated?

I love the art of this deck but cardstock can be a huge turn off for me if it doesn't riffle well.

I do like the looks of this deck though so I have pondered it.

Thanks!

It's VERY easy to crease. I haven't, but I fear I might. A bit too thick and not at all whippy. I don't know how I would shuffle (I too am an unashamed riffler.) The finish is nice, though.

I MIGHT try a riffle later. Just for you :)

Thank you for the kind offer- but I would worry about you damaging the deck! I managed to get one reviewer who was bending the card a bit to test for that and I did see the affinity to crease- though she did it with just one card.

I don’t riffle shuffle and I do think it wouldn’t riffle shuffle at all well so if anyone’s in doubt about that, it may be a deal breaker. It has a clunky, crispy feel - no, not whippey  - that works with more traditional shuffling (what’s the word - hand over shuffling - I’m out of sync have with the jargon!)

I have to confess, I was pulling out a selection of decks for my reading this evening and I went for the 8 Coins Tattoo Tarot one, which I really do love and which read very well. I think I need to test drive the Ink and Intuition one on myself first.

Thank you. Interesting as I was also wondering how the two would stack up against each other as far as readability. It's like you are a mind reader or card reader or something!  X-D

Good idea LF l always do readings for myself first with a new deck to get the feel of it.  If it works well and l feel comfortable in its energy l will read for others with it.

I’ll be interested to hear how it reads.

I’m going to have to hold off buying for a few months as I’ve had a bit of a spending spree recently - lovely Giordano Berti and Yves Renaud decks which I’m thrilled with. Bank balance is not too happy though..

This deck has been on my wish list for a while, not only because I am heavily tattooed, but that is definitely a factor!  I finally treated myself and it is due to arrive on Monday.

I got this as a gift two months ago and I like it very much. I like the card stock, and personally I riffle shuffle it all the time, and never had any concerns with it. It reads very well for me - and also, may I say that (especially the court cards) folks in this deck are very attractive, not so say smoking hot 😉
