I love the name of this forum. One can never have too much tea, says I. I always brew up a cup while preparing to do a reading.

 

I work with oracle systems (mahjong and I Ching) but I am a complete newbie with the tarot. I just picked up The Raven's Prophecy deck recently and I have much to learn. I've always been interested in Eastern culture, hence why I was drawn to the Eastern oracles as mentioned above.

 

One of the challenges I had when choosing a tarot deck was the heavy prevalence of human imagery in the tarot. Somehow that didn't speak to me. The deck I finally settled on focuses on imagery of ravens, roses, and human hands. Once I learn the tarot system and the meaning and significance behind the images on the cards, hopefully I will come to accept the human figures as simply being a part of the tarot story.

 

I'm sure I will learn a lot here, and I look forward to the journey! I am shy on forums, but hopefully I will get to know some cool people here along the way.

Welcome home Elemental!  I think reading is such a journey. We can't go the the library and use 8 different decks to find one that speaks to us. So most of us go through Many decks :) And them we keep changing and growing and suddenly one of our top 5 is back down at the bottom of the pile...
