Is Dream of Gaia considered more mystical?

Hi there!

I am new to both this forum and tarot. Is the Dream of Gaia considered more mystical?

Hi Liamum and welcome to TT&M!  Dreams of Gaia isn't more mystical than any other tarot but it does use a slighty different system.  It is not a Rider Waite clone for sure.  To use this deck I recommend reading the companion book to get the feel for the deck.  It has 81 cards instead of the typical 78 cards and much of the Major Arcana is renamed.  The companion book is excellent!

Saturn Celeste,

Thank you!!

Are there more mystical decks- I know of The Mystical Tarot.

What do you mean by "mystical"?  If you mean earth based spirituality type mystical then there are quite a few of them.  I have the Dreams of Gaia, and the book is excellent but as Saturn said it has a system of its own and has more Majors than your typical tarot deck.  The Fifth Tarot is another deck I definitely qualify in the Mystical/Spiritual category (it has 5 suits plus the Majors).  But I think getting a better understanding of what you mean by Mystical might help us toss out some additional deck ideas for you  :)

Not much of a help here other than to second what both Saturn and Jewel have said. Good luck!

I think I am thinking of more ethereal and to ignite/ use intuition.

I would recommend the Green Witch Tarot - it is mystical in that it accents earth based spirituality, and some of the cards are very ethereal - not all cards but some of them.  The deck does spark the intuition.  The DruidCraft is another one I would highly recommend if you are into pagan decks.

Shadowscapes is very ethereal and sparks intuition as well, but I am not sure I would call it mystical.  But it has a magical feel to it.  Though I do not care much for the deck personally, the Mystic Dreamer might be one you look at.

There are two decks that come to mind (none of which I personally use, so I won’t be able to review them for you) but Mary El and Margarete Petersen are both fairly mystical decks.

Japaridze tarot might also qualify

If that's your definition of mystical, then I concur. I love that deck.

You might also want to check out the Kabbalistic Visions. It's out of this world.

The Mystical Tarot looks really nice and intuitive, I had to add that to my wishlist  >:D
