Trying to find a Lenormand mentor

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone

Hope this is the right place for this..

I would really like to find a Lenormand mentor- I have read a few books, saw many videos, tried it myself- yet it doesn't seem to click as opposed to Tarot where I use my intuition.

So looking for an experienced reader to help me out

Cheers

hi! Am new to Lenormand too, and a few weeks ago I was looking for a Lenormand mentor like you.

I find myself in the same situation as you; things doesn't seem to click. As if the cards say whatever they want to say. Something that has helped me so much is having a friend that I can exchange with; this person is good with Leno, and the readings she does for me, I can see how they act in my own real life, and have a better understanding of the cards, which has helped me do better readings and to just connect in general with the cards

Hope this has helped u somehow, good luck!

Maybe you both could help each other? Even exchanging ideas/frustrations/breakthroughs can help!

Best Wishes,

I agree.. since I came from Tarot which is a visual medium.. to Lenormand which is a verbal.one I think I just couldn't do the switch yet.. so both your ideas sound helpful indeed.

Yes, same thing here, and I love how you described both Tarot and Leno

Im happy it helped u somehow, and as Sandra said, if u ever need to share something with someone u can PM me, I am open to debating these cards, and also seeing how it affects other people lives, how they interpret them.

Dee, thank you a lot for the suggestions, will keep it in mind and if I find myself having a hard blockage I will sure contact them, thank you!

I am in the early stages of studying lenormand ,

it is good to get good books, alas the first one I have the easy lenormand leaves out the playing cards..

the andy b one is a good read,, but I want more !

so since you are going to be self studying as I am..

there is this site.

https://www.divinewhispers.net/lenormandlessons.htm

and here is her you tube channel (i haven'tlistend to her pod casts).

https://www.youtube.com/user/DivineWhispers

with videos going back 5 years at least.

i think we are in a unique position,,

the traditional lenormand tend to stick to their standards far as i know,, german, french.. for example.

i am in canada myself so i can apply the tarot,, to the lenormand and study the lenormand in my own way.

while staying true to some of the traditions as i learn them.

example donna says you don't use reversals as the houses and other cards give reversals meanings, i proven that you can and they add depth to a reading.

then again in the kipper book that comes with the kipper ciro deck uses them as tarot cards, and so why not ?

i think using them as tarot cards as you learn lenormand will add to 3 5, 7 and 9 card readings.

Thanks for the info HOLMES..

I indeed have a Lenormand book I got  which is "The Complete Lenormand Oracle Handbook" by Caitlin Matthews. I find to be rather good.

I have also seen TONS of Youtube videos mostly I liked the Truth and Story Channel and Tarot Tribe Beyond Worlds ( which you also suggested to me)

Both have very in depth Lenormand series.

However, as opposed to you ( and maybe because it is still rather new to me) I find the multitude of different interpretations very confusing ( from the various Lenormand systems)

Plus using words instead of images drives me bananas..

So I have decided to  to yet again strip things down and use ( for the time being) the list of interpretations that is provided in the truth and story dropbox, which, while limited might give me some order...

Other than that, not sure what do to..

It isn't so different from Tarot. But it does give more precision to readings I think. You're still using your intuition to read the spreads, though, because you can't adhere to just one word per card. Here's an  example:

You draw the Child and the Coffin plus the Bouquet. You read it "you'll be getting a small (Child) box (Coffin) with a gift inside (Bouquet). I've over-simplified that to make it clearer for you, I hope. If you just learn the key words then the cards would only say A child is dead bring flowers. But that isn't the real message. And this is where intuition comes in---your intuition brings you the right answer but you have to have a good basis with Lenormand and the card combinations of cards. It's in card combinations that you find the real messages.

I don't know if people will disagree but I find that Lenormand can also deal with psychological insights, like Tarot. And I do believe that all divination cards are read with intuition. You can ask the same question to Tarot, Lenormand or Playing Cards and you will get insights, hows and whys and an accurate answer. Tarot has elements and connects with astrology and the images of the major arcana are telling a story of a human's path. Lenormand's images are more of the everyday life but can also give you insights rather than just practical, direct answers (intuition and concentration is the key).

Hey. X/ Glad to be in your company. <3  I'm from Russia, sorry for my English. I love the Lenormand deck and have been working with it for a long time. In recent years I have tried many techniques of reading layouts and now I can say that the time was spent not in vain! Now I have students in Russia who are happy to learn how to work with the deck. I hope you will find your teacher who will help you. Good luck. :)
