Registration error fix that worked for me

Recommended Posts

I tried to register several times with different browsers , different settings , etc. , and always got the error message . But once I enabled accepting 3rd party cookies there was no problem .

I never accept 3rd party cookies , and only site cookies if I absolutely have no choice . This is the only site I've ever had to allow 3rd party cookies for so it would normally never occur to me that was the problem.

(Using Windows 8.1)

It is kind of ironic that the only time i saw cookies is the day you tried to join . I bet others are having same problem.literially just saw third party cookies.notice last night and sent pm to little fang to ask about them.

I haven't changed anything with cookies, just put a little pop up that mentions them for cookie law.

Edit: Doing some research, the cookies you are finding are from GoDaddy (our host) and Twitter (which I have on the sidebar so people can follow forum updates or see other fun things we post there.)

If you could share the error message you were receiving, it would be a huge help in order to squash the bug.

It just said an error has occurred , no type or number .

That might be just general information and not an error code . but I could be wrong .

I am talking about the cookie settings in whatever browser a person uses . I use Firefox or variants thereof , like Pale Moon and Waterfox . Usually in the settings of any browser there will be an area about accepting or blocking cookies . It might be under Options , or Preferences , Internet Options,  or something similar .  I have separate choices for cookies and third party cookies . I can block either or both . Most people probably don't pay attention and will have hundreds of cookies , following them around the internet for years .
