So, I did my first reading (other than my new deck reading) with the Anna K Tarot. A friend of mine asked about a situation he's in. I didn't ask permission to post the reading, but I will give you some thoughts on it. First off, I love these cards - the artwork is so expressive! The colors and just everything about the cards gives life to a reading. The first card was the Knight of Swords ... he's so stern, in fighting mode, ready to attack or defend depending on what is needed. But we also had the Page of Pentacles who is so at peace with themselves and with the Earth. A dichotomy that truly represented both ends of the situation we were looking at.

The entire reading just flowed so smoothly. The cards are very intuitive, very easy to interpret. For the most part everything just flowed with very little struggle over what the interpretations needed to be. I'd kind of taken a couple of days off from spiritual work and I have to say, coming back to it with this deck was an excellent experience. I think this is going to be one of my most favored decks.

I wanted to say some words about the oracle deck I've been using this week. First of all it seems it joined up with the Thoth on being dramatic on wednesday, the day we were driving the long way to the train station. The Aeon from Thoth and Sheila Na Gig from the Goddess Oracle, oh my! The opening on Sheila clearly ended up reminding my of the 10-to-20 tunnels we passed through as we drove the last miles (as in 10 km = 1 mile) to the town where the train station is, and all the tunnels I would pass through as I slept in my sleeping compartment on the train. The Aeon I think is connected to the Death card I got when I arrived back home - there is a new aeon dawning for me. How, I'm not sure, but something connected to this trip maybe? I ended up meeting so many of my relatives, more than I've met for a long time.

So back to the Goddess Oracle, I think it's pretty good overall. When I handle it I feel like a lot of the cards have things they wanna tell me. The selection of goddesses is mixed up well with some from the more well known pantheons like greek, egyptian, roman, celtic, and I'm happy to see a lot of goddesses from cultures I'm not very familiar with here too. I haven't worked super much with it yet so I can't say if any cards are kind of duplicates, something I saw on the aeclectic site. The godesses vary in their looks: some are young, slim or brown, others are old, curvy or pale. I definetely think some diversity makes for a more exciting deck, when all look the same it gets boring very soon and I like to be able to tell them apart. The art is good, although there looks to be some weird anatomy going on with Amaterasu and Minerva's heads, like they seem a bit too small. Other than those two I haven't noticed anything that threw me off! Overall I really like this deck so far and I'm glad I went for this one and not the Doreen Virtue Goddess Oracle I saw in the shop too. The only thing is I wish the cards didn't have as much white space as they do but if it really bothers me I have both scissors and a corner rounder  :-X
