Raggydoll Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Kelly-Ann recently posted this on Youtube: These are just my notes, but be sure to check out her video for a more in depth explanation of each position. 1 2 3 4 5 6 1. How to work safely and effectively with your shadow at the moment? This card can represent a warning or a gentle advice. It can bring up areas of fear and reluctance in your life. It could be things that you already might be aware of but that you could use some reminding of, or some clarification on. 2. What's cooking. The current hot-button issues and how to deal with them. It talks about which themes, issues, memories and relationships that might be hot-button ones for your samhain shadow work. This card might just affirm something you were expecting to show up in this position, but it might also bring up things that you really did not think you were gonna have to explore. (Kelly-Ann also points out that you do not have to explore the area represented by this card if it does not resonate with you or if you have other areas that you rather work on.) 3. The year in focus. This card processes your fears, disappointments, regrets and failures from the year so far. (This card could zoom in on things that has happened since January this year, or even since Samhain last year). 4. What you need to know about self honesty during shadow work. This card can high light our blind spots or our weaknesses, issues that we are ignoring or trying to downplay (areas that you are not so sure that you want to do the work; with specific memories or relationships and so on). This card will show any resistances and blockages in your ability to perform shadow work, and it will call you out on those and keep you accountable. 5. Key shadow work exercises to use. Exercises and mindsets that you can bring into action from Samhain right through until Imbolc. This card makes sure that your shadow work is not just for Samhain but that it breaks through into the following year. New ideas such as group work, journaling, meditation, guided visualization, or just the encouragement to change things up and try something completely new. 6. Be ware Potential danger zones. Things that can come up in shadow work that might feel problematic to you. Areas where you need to thread lightly and carefully; areas that you are not ready to address or approach. It represents a sense of where you need to be gentle. Don't push yourself to go to dark and scary places in your psyche just because it is Samhain! Make sure that you are safe and ready for what you take on.
