What Would Your Dream Tarot Deck Be?

This topic has actually been posted before, but when I tried to post in it, the forum suggested that I start a new topic, (because the original thread was started so long ago) so here I am.

 

Short and sweet - What would your dream Tarot Deck be?

I love the Dark Angels Tarot, I love dragons, and I love cats, so my dream deck would be a combination of the three.  Maybe dark angels, with their dragon magician partners, and their cat familiars.  It would also be multicultural, because you don't see many multicultural angel decks, dark or otherwise.  Finally, it would be drawn manga style.  Maybe this deck doesn't make a lot of sense, but I would love it!  :)  <3

Okay, I'm just kind of brainstorming here -

 

How about a deck where each card represents a song, on the idea of the "give a tarot card a song" thread https://www.thetarotforum.com/talking-tarot/give-a-tarot-card-a-song!/.

 

Only instead of a random collection of fun ideas, it would be a carefully curated deck where each suit would have a theme.  It could be based on musical genres, or artists, or lyrical subjects. 

 

If it were based on genres, maybe the majors could be classical, wands classic rock, cups blues, swords hip hop, pentacles folk.

 

Okay my brain is starting to hurt, time to stop storming...

 

And here's the kicker - there would be an online component with links to the songs for each card.

I would also love to see a mythological creatures deck where each suit represented a different type of creature.  The Majors would be dragons (of course!  ;D), Wands would be unicorns, Cups would be mermaids, Swords would be pegasi, and Pentacles would be griffons.

I would like to see a deck that was designed for magic and ritual work (not just one that’s made to look pretty in a magical way - there’s already plenty of those!). What I mean is a deck made by someone that practice the type of magic I do and who believe that you can design a deck that becomes a potent living tool and that contain real tangible energies and powers, as well as portals (in the shamanistic sense, not in a sci-fi or ‘back to the future’ sense :)).) I guess this is what Benebell Wen did with her deck but she is too classically ‘occult’ (Kabbalah, Golden Dawn and so on) for my personal liking (at least in this regard). I hope that the Bonestone and Earthflesh tarot is closer to what I am looking for. Me and Avalon share a lot of basic ideas when it comes to magic (even though she comes at it from a Brazilian ’low magic’ - angle and I connect with the Norse shamanism/sejdr/völva tradition, but I guess that is pretty much ‘low magic’ as well  ^-^ )

I love Peter Pracownik's dragons, but I'm not so keen on his LotR art.

Oooh oooh I have another one. 

 

I remember talking about this in another thread some weeks ago.  That thread was along the lines of thinking of a famous person to represent a specific card, like maybe Diana Ross for the Queen of Wands.  I might scroll back through my posts to find it, or maybe someone else remembers. 

 

Anyway, it occurred to me then that almost every card in the deck could be based on David Carradine.  I'm gonna go out on a limb here and extend that to every single card.  My ideal deck would have David Carradine on every single card.  Maybe still shots from his movies, quotes from his books, publicity photos, candid shots, bits of live and print interviews - just all David Carradine all the time!!!

 

He's hot, he's cool, he's the only celebrity I ever dreamed of meeting.  Grandpa loves him too and didn't mind at all that whereas he had a picture of himself and me on his nightstand, I had a photo-edited picture of David Carradine and me on mine.

I had not seen that deck. Looks cool! By the way, I think mixed spiritual paths are awesome. They honor a persons individuality and open up a much broader potential- in my opinion  ^-^

My dream deck would be a combination of the those two decks, the Morgan-Greer Tarot deck, but more realistic-looking, but much more darker and erotic. Ah I'm trying for half an hour now to post a reply and my laptop is just lagging. Anyway. I'd love to see a deck inspired by folk greek culture (and/or balkan culture in general). Stories, landscape, customs, you know, everything. It would be great if it had the folk art style too cause I love naive paintings. If you know of any decks with similar art style, please let me know, even if they are not inspired by the culture I mentioned. Maybe I'll try to draw one too, even though it's gonna be a lot of work and I have other things to do now.

I once saw a deck someone was making, on Tarot tea and me...I think they were asking for donations or pre buyers?  It was really stunning, and was all nature pictures, but I cant remember the name now...They may not have been from our site here, but someone here posted about it...It was so beautiful and the photos on the cards have never left me brain ;)  <3

No, they're not mine, if it were I'd have made the deck already hahaha...

But I draw in a similar fashion I think, and I have started to sketch the majors.  :D

Faeries (I include mermaids with my faeries) and crystals, and moons and more! LOL.  I am quite sure Baba Studios would have to make it to ensure it all worked seamlessly together into a useful and cohesive tool lol.  I don't think I could even fully begin to describe it, but like the faeries oracle its energy would leap from the cards.  The deck would have a strong elemental and pagan influences in it as well.
