Seeking the names of a good tarot workbook or two

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’ve found a deck I like working with online (probably a present to myself soon  <3) and I’d like to work with a journal. The primary one that comes to mind is Mary Greer’s Tarot for Yourself, so I was wondering...which journals have you enjoyed using and which have been most productive/instructional?

Thanks!

The best workbook I have ever used is 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card by Mary Greer.  I highly recommend it.

Both Tarot For Yourself and 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card are excellent choices. I would add Joan Bunning's Learning the Tarot, which has a series of exercises to go with each lesson.

I'm currently working through the workbook mentioned by Night Shade and Jewel, 21 Ways to read a Tarot Card and really benefitting from it a lot. I've also got the one you mention by Mary K Greer, Tarot for Your Self and am looking forward to using that. The 21 Ways book is the more recent of the two

I was just sorting through my library and I have all the books mentioned except for Tarot for Your Self, so it looks like I’ll have to get that one.

I had no intentions to take up the tarot again, so I don’t know where I’m going with it now.  It’s been the result of one of those odd flukes of nature—I decided to surrender to a stereotype at the same time I was thinking about bonding more with my dad who has Alzheimer’s.  Our family has always been very spiritual and has been involved in multiple metaphysical fields.  Nothing felt like a right fit 20 years ago when I gave it up.  Then, about 3 weeks ago, I dreamt of the Star card and in looking it up I found the Labrynthios academy and just started playing around with it.  Having fun with a deck I’d never seen before.  So, I don’’t know where I’m headed, but I’m here for now and truly grateful for your input!

Thanks so much!
