I have recently come up with my own strategies so I appreciate this thread!  It was started by Farzon

This is a continuation of the discussion starting here . I hope Talking Tarot is the right place for this?

So, the CC is a pretty complex spread although it's presented as a beginner's spread in most LWBs. How do you read it to get the most out of it? Do you have special strategies you go with?

I like to dissect it into it's different relations and then connecting them.

I also found it practicable to look at it as an open reading (taking into account gazes and movements that connect different cards) as opposed to the positional interpretations.

Thank you for the link! :)

I’ve been studying the Celtic Cross spread recently to try make sense of it before I use it, and this has been so helpful! I’ve currently got 5 pages of notes, and counting  but I think I’m getting a handle on it now (she says with all the overconfidence that comes with not having tried it yet) ;D

You should see the mess of diagrams I have on how each card relates to the others :o looks like I let an inky spider on meth loose...

Interesting. This will help me a lot because I really really struggle with CC.

The only asvice I have when it comes to CC is: Do not use CC. Especially if you are new to tarot.

I'm with Sar. I only ever used it once and it was a disaster. AND my sitter went home in tears.

I don't have the time or patience for big spreads like this, although I did do one once for myself so I could have an opinion.

edited to add: I've been reading cards since 2006

When I do big spreads I use the 21 card Romany spread. It works like a charm.
