Saturn Celeste Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=61680 by rainwolf Whenever I get a (tarot) book out, or read my cards, there are some cards I just don't like to see come up because I don't like to deal with them. Not because of their interpretation, but just because I have some irrational aversion. The Fool is one example of this. I was thinking about it this morning--why don't I like the fool? He's so happy and carefree.... I forced myself to try and find a reason, and the idea that he has no goals or plans just bothered me. I don't like to read that in my cards, and I don't like to find that in my everyday life. I plan on reading a little more on the fool to see how I can relate to this interpretation and what I can find in it today. Anyone else have cards they irrationally don't like? Care to share?
Raggydoll Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I think there is a difference in disliking a certain archetype and disliking a specific depiction. What I mean is that some people dislike a certain card, like the Hierophant. And what they mean is often that they have a hard time with this specific archetype, so it doesn't matter what deck they use. But sometimes it's just the depiction of a specific card that you struggle with. If its option number 1 then I try to figure out if there is some shadow stuff going on or if I can search for more definitions or new perspectives on that archetype. If its option number 2 then I'll either try and ignore it or get rid of that deck. I'll sell a deck if it has several depictions that I dislike. And I don't mean in a strictly artistic sense - because if I didn't like the artistic look then I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. But sometimes there are just certain depictions that don't sit right. They either don't resonate or just make me angry (like if i feel that its politically incorrect or degrading in some way) .
