Convince me to buy it!

Recommended Posts

Now obviously one deck will read for one person one way and another another way, but I want to expand my wish list for when I can start buying again. Your job is to convince me to buy one of your favorite decks, or two or three.

I like most anything really, but I would prefer to stay away from decks that based on a belief system. Other than that, I have such a wide variety of likes it is hard to pinpoint anything that would make me not want to buy a deck.

I find Tarot likes are somewhat personal, so to ensure we can provide you with decks we think might appeal to you it would be nice to know a little more about the kind of decks you like (art style, system, tradition, themed or not themed, etc.)  It will help us better tempt you  >:D

The Sola Busca Tarot Museum Quality:

Tarot cards can be an investment and investing in the Sola Busca is one of the best chances you have to invest.  The Sola Busca is the first deck with all the cards illustrated and when Pamela Smith came along, she based much of the artwork for the RW deck on this ancient tarot deck.  I have 2 Sola Buscas and the original price I paid for each one has more than tripled.  You won't do regular tarot readings with them but they are incredible to study and learn the history.  This even has a book that goes along with it!  It comes out in January so I'd suggest pre-ordering because once this deck comes out, I doubt you'll be able to buy it.  It's a little pricey but who knows when the next Sola Busca will be released.

About the only thing I am not a fan of are decks that are heavily based on a religion.

I just put it in my save for later slot.  As a lover of the Sola Busca I just can't say no.  Here is the last Sola Busca I purchased when it came out and how much it is worth now.  I think I paid like $18.18 for it or something low.  I didn't get it from Amazon though I got it from Book Depository.

Wow! Would you ever sell it?

No, we have another older Sola Busca that is the grandaddy of the set.  So this deck will be my 3rd and I have the Game of Saturn book that goes with the Sola Busca.  It will be one great collection should we have to sell further on down in the future but I want to hang on to it for ages!  Make sure to keep an eye on Giordano Berti's posts in the Historical section.

I wish I could convince you! The truth is, it's too personal for me, and, at the end of the day, probably for you, too. I can't tell you how many decks I THINK I'll like, then give away. After 25 years, I still only have a handful of decks I "go to" for readings, and I have a few others that intrigue me enough to work with them regularly, for my own personal learning.

My favs:

Thoth. I don't know if I'd recommend it as a "first" deck.

The Cat People: One of my two first decks, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it, either, given that it has very "alien" energies.

Sacred Rose: The other of my two oldest decks. Ditto for weird energy.

The Medieval Scapini: I love this deck because it both follows and doesn't follow the rules. Rich imagery, loads of room for intuitive, channeled information. Over the past few years (maybe 8 or more?) it's been my "rely upon" deck for readings. I love it.

Spiral: I love it. It's beautiful and rich in imagery. Second fav to Scapini for reading others.

Everyday Witch: I feel like a total sell-out ALL THE TIME for including this in my favs, but DAMN, it's so cheeky and fun and surprising and wise and it makes me smile. It takes a lot to make me smile, so there is that. ;)

I love, of late, Tarot of Eden. Also very "out-there" energies. I'm working with that for my learning and guidance.

Go with your heart. And your gut. That's the absolute best place to start.

I wish you well!

Sandy

Robin Wood if you do not mind a little nudity its a very popular and a good reader.

Pagan Cats a beautiful deck for a cat lover, features everyday kitty's in normal settings.

Everyday Enchanted Tarot, very modern and highly readable.

There are so many decks new and old that could be recommended, go with your own instinct and let your intuitive self be your guide.

Good luck  :)

Quantum Tarot - it has no religion in it whatsoever as it's based on science.
