Saturn Celeste Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=138672 by faunabay It may just be me but has anyone else ever thought this? I mean I love finding out why artists put certain details into the cards. It gives me more insight into meanings and how I interprete them. But sometimes it seems there's a specific reason for every little itsy bitsy detail. And IMO that's gets a bit overwhelming too......for me as a reader. I mean isn't there ever a time that you just put something in there because it looks good? LOL I don't know.....I may just be in a mood but I was reading about a certain deck the other day and the artist went into so much detail and so much reasonings behind every single thing in the card that my eyes were starting to glaze over. I guess it's helpful when one thing does jump out at you to beable to find out the reason behind it being placed on that particular card.......but at the same time sometimes I want that answer to be "because I liked the way it looked"
River Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 I think you can just ignore all the specific details if you don't always feel like taking them into account. The image is supposed to evoke certain feelings and make you come up with ideas even if you haven't studied everything on it; the details just give you even more ideas or depth to the understanding of the depicted archetype, from what I got.
