Hi Flaxen[/member] I imagine it must be stressful commuting, London can be fun though  8)

Yes, it certainly had its moments - although I was mostly based at the Discovery Centre, in the collections. If you remember Dr. Rock's Lost Gallery, though... well, I might have had something to do with that!  ;)

No I think I missed that one-sounds like it was cool though! I always find it very atmospheric in there, some TV people did a ghost hunt not so long ago, did you ever have any spirit encounters there?

Interesting... do you know of any video available? I'd love to see what they reported.

I was there during the set-up of the museum, and yes, there were a whole stack of encounters at the time, especially around the southern staircase. It ranged from objects jumping, to senses of a presence, to figures seen moving through rooms that were locked after closing time. There was one particular area that several of the staff refused to go to on their own after hours. Definitely an atmosphere! Although I didn't see any of the more spectacular manifestations, I certainly felt that presence once or twice.

The story goes that when it was a theatre, someone jumped (or was pushed?) from the top of that southern staircase, but I'm not sure what the truth is.

For even more of an atmosphere, try exploring Temple Newsam House. I know of one person that eventually asked for a transfer away from there!
