GreatDane Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Well, I had to have a thread opposite the DARK SIDE. Honestly, I have no sugary sweet or even lightly sweet decks. Would love to hear about all of yours. What decks do your gravitate towards when you need something light and airy?
Linfang Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 My Hello Kitty Tarot! I get a warm and fuzzy feeling only by taking it out of its bag. Fluffy colours, cute pics, but still reads spot-on. Other sweeties... the Happy Tarot, Delos Tarot, Joie de Vivre Tarot. Enough to keep me going through dark days.
GreatDane Posted January 19, 2019 Author Posted January 19, 2019 OHH COOL EXAMPLES, LINFANG! I couldn't think of the Joie de Vivre, but I thought of the images. THAT to me is a happy whimsical deck  X/
Guest Night Shade Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Personally, I'm rather fond of the dark side, so I don't have many sugary sweet decks, but I do have the Happy tarot and the Crystal Visions Tarot, because sometimes you need a little brightness in your life.
GreatDane Posted January 19, 2019 Author Posted January 19, 2019 X/ Very true, Night Shade! And you summed up perfectly what I was trying to get at regarding Dark/Light decks. It's more about the vibe.
Luna Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 Hands down, it would have to be my Hanson Roberts Tarot deck. Its perfect for when you are reading for young teenagers too, and just a sweet and happy little deck, imo.
GreatDane Posted January 19, 2019 Author Posted January 19, 2019 Agree, Luna! I don't have it, but very familiar with it. It reminds me of a children's book X/
Grandma Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 The deck that makes me happiest is the Antique Anatomy Ephemera. I don't read with it and I don't meditate with it. I just look at it and feel so very very happy. (I know that's different than sugary sweet, but this seemed like a good place to mention it.)
Little Fang Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 The Animal Wisdom Tarot is soft and approachable. :)
Bookworm Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 The Anna K is sweet, but not sugary sweet, if you know what I mean. :)
MysticMoonlight Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I don't have that many sugary decks but come to think of it, I don't have that many dark decks either. Joie de Vivre...LOVE this deck Whimsical Tarot...rarely use this one but it's cute and would be great for children, inner child work, etc., or just for the happy vibes. Crystal Visions...again LOVE this one! It's one of the first decks I ever purchased and I loved it instantly. Shadowscapes...this deck just has a lighthearted feel. To me, the pastel colors and airy/fluid artwork feels like it cushions the blow somewhat of the difficult news cards. DV's Angel Tarot...this one is sugary. I have to do a double take on the "uh-oh" cards. It takes me a second to "get" there may be complications, etc. to deal with because the artwork isn't necessarily revealing right off hand. I rarely, rarely use this one.
Jewel Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I find this hard to answer. I honestly do not see the Joie de Vivre as sugary or sweet, I see it as empathetic but it does tell it like it is. Shadowscapes is another I do not find sugary or sweet, I find it poetic and it has a dream like quality to it. Both of these decks have whimsy, but to me that does not necessarily translate to sugary and sweet. I guess it all depends on how we define sugary and sweet.
GreatDane Posted January 25, 2019 Author Posted January 25, 2019 I understand, JEWEL. Perhaps it would be better put...your NOT dark decks. Sugary may not be the best word. Joie de Vivre is one that came to mind for me. It's a...more...HAPPY?...deck. So just whatever you see as your opposite of dark decks? and BOOKWORM, I get what you mean re the Anna, K Lenormand. It's one of my favs. I think of it as a homey, warm deck, not "sugary"..so I get it
Jewel Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 I understand, JEWEL. Perhaps it would be better put...your NOT dark decks. Sugary may not be the best word. Got it :) Thanks for the clarification.
