I'm using the Crow Tarot again this week.

Between work, getting ready for our specialty dog show and preparing for "Snowpocalypse 2019"  (yes, it's here this afternoon - ugh) I barely touched my deck, let alone anything else that wasn't task related.  I'm scheduled to work this weekend, and I am having some deep, deep doubts it will happen unless the show shuts off.

Thanks VG! I'd like to join this week :) I'm in with the Goddess Tarot and Illuminated Earth Oracle. AJ-ish/Sharyn[/member] I think you were working with the Illuminated Earth a few weeks ago, is that right? This will be my first real dive into it.

I'm in with Deirdre of the Sorrows Tarot.

I really like the Dierdre of the Sorrows - not sorrowful at all, IMO.  :P

Yes, the Library System is closed entirely, so no work at all, not just me bing a snow wimp.  Wow.   Now I don't have to leave early to get to the Annual Banquet (also this weekend).  And I got to turn off my alarm for tomorrow - yay!!

VG, glad the snow only canceled the unimportant events (like work  ;D). Thanks for the new week's thread.

I'm in this week with the Tyldwick Tarot paired with the Antiquarian Lenormand.

Hi RavenofSummer, yes, a couple of weeks ago, my first acquaintance with it, and enjoyed it immensely. Well enough that I'm using it for Moon Phase readings through 2019.

Squee gifted me with the Tarot Egyptien Grand Jeu Oracle of the Dames...I"m mad about it and will be using it this week. A real meeting a tall dark stranger deck. Thanks VG (about 3 inches of snow here, your leftovers)

shows difference between it and the Etteilla here

Haaaputschiii! - there is no emoticon with a happy sneeze.....

Thank you, Bodhiseed and  AJ-ish!

I hope, your best wishes come true soon :)

Today I pulled the Dream Raven Taot 5 of cups.

It fits: 3 spilled cups on the ground = 3 weeks lost to these snifffffles

But 2 cups = 2 weeks are still full of all the good stuff life has to offer!

I will guard these cups well and drink deeply from them.

Welcome back everyone, glad to see you!!!

Looks like several of us are going with the Corvidae this week.

Another snow day off work here.  "It will turn to rain" they said.  Well, it does, but then it turns back to snow...ah well.

Okay, VG, I'm going to admit to you and everyone that I thought "Sorrows" referred to a geographic location, i.e. hills, valley, plains, bog. But, your comment prompted me to google Deirdre of the Sorrows... :bugeyed: I really appreciate knowing the real story... But now I'm feeling a compulsion to figure out if there is any kind of connection between the story and the imagery in the cards. :P

This is what I learned this week: Deirdre of the Sorrows reminds me of Granny Jones Australian Tarot.

This realization took me by surprise, so I started thinking about their similarities...

Both creators have used personal symbols in a clever way to convey meaning. The artwork feels homegrown in both, deeply connected to the place of its origin. Both decks could have used the same designer to create several of the costumes in the court cards.

I don't know if my observations are worth anything, but I'm attaching examples of what I see.

In the end, I think I just enjoy comparing things.

Nice comparisons, M.Squee! I have both these decks but never caught the similarities.

I am feeling much better and had a good week with the Dream Ravens.

some cards are a little strange, but that makes it interesting.

I had never looked at the 6 of Swords to be a sign of someone

- being passive aggressive

- and or acting as if all the calamity of the 5 of Swords had not happened

- or were NOT of the persons doing/ instigating

I like the Crows Tarot - going on the more later list, because I need more time.
