Angel-Evoking Tarot Kickstarter

Recommended Posts

I just noticed this deck on Kickstarter yesterday: the  Angel-Evoking Tarot. With still 22 days left in the campaign, it's already funded 625%. It looks interesting and people who supported the last deck made by the same artist are raving about the quality that he puts into his creations. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Wow! Awesome art & effect! Thanks for sharing!;D

I have pretty much given up on KS - UK customs fees (and the post office add-on) and never knowing which country I will be in when they arrive has really turned me off....

But actually - this is very well done, and leaves me cold.

gregory[/member] you sum perfectly why I avoid ks!:D but now I discovered digital & that 10$ pledge is tempting!;)

Obviously a lot of research and work has gone in to the production of this tarot.  Don't know why but it gives me the shivers, l would not want to work with this deck.

And l love Angels, but just feel there is something which makes me uncomfortable.

Where Doreen Virtue's cards were too sugary sweet this is a completely different departure.

But he is selling well l see.

This deck looks gorgeous but I'm highly skeptical this guy found an "antique" text called an "Angenomicon" in a French library, or that Marquis d'Argenson had anything to do with occult literature. The only reference Google turns up to an "Angenomicon" on the internet is in this kickstarter, and the real historical Marquis d'Argenson seems to be known for a pedestrian slice-of-court-life journals.

But he's clearly raised the money, and it might be interesting to use this with my demon tarot, since otherwise they're just kind of useless learning cards to me. HMM.

Hi everyone!  I'm the creator of the Angel-Evoking Tarot.  First of all: thank you for the discussion about the deck, I love all your comments!!

To clarify the above-quoted statement: The Angenomicon is a new book of angel magic that was collected, translated, and edited by me using five different texts from the 1600s - 1700s that were previously unpublished.  The actual authors of these hand-written grimoires were anonymous, so I can't exactly credit them.

The Marquis d'Argenson was a collector of occult literature and had one of the largest libraries in Europe.  When he died, he left his books to the country of France and it became the core collection of the Arsenal Library in Paris.  He merely owned a copy of one of the five books I utilized and jotted a note in the margin about the inherent evil in the book.

As for the overseas shipping / customs duties: I do my best to be honest on the shipping form, but I also want to help backers avoid unnecessary customs duties.  In fact, for my last project, when they did have to pay, I reimbursed them!

Thank you again for taking the time to view the campaign and discuss it, I hope I was able to answer some of your questions.
