One card to describe your reading style

If you had to choose one Tarot card to describe the way that you read, what would you pick and why?

I think that for myself, I would go with the Hierophant. I like traditions and systems, and I bring that attitude very much to Tarot reading. Plus, the grounded, practical energy of Taurus is linked to my views on what Tarot is and what it can do, and I like the general image of consultation and seeking that's associated with this card.

Others? I tend to ask this question early on when I meet someone who reads Tarot, and I've gotten a lot of the Star and the High Priestess. Still, I'd be interested to see what other ATers have to say on the matter.

I think I would choose the Queen of Cups.  I prefer to read intuitively, and I like to look at the spiritual side of the question.  I also like to give advice in my readings, and try to put as positive a spin on them as I possibly can.  I want the people I read for to end up feeling empowered and hopeful, even if the situation they're facing isn't the greatest.

I thought about this and I think my reading style would boil down to The Moon — relying heavily on intuition but skeptically aware of the paradoxes and pitfalls everywhere, haha.

Queen of swords.

Straight to the point and cutting through the bull****.

I’m thinking that The Star describes me. Not necessarily because of the theme of giving hope, but more of her act of pouring water in two directions at once. She knows that the water is not of her, she just helps direct and distribute it.

Queen of Cups

my reading style is intuitive but also gentle, non-judgemental, compassionate and nurturing. I just look in the cup and say what message comes up but I pass it on gently and compassionately.

Interesting thread; I'd not thought of this question before!

I guess I'm something of a Hooded Man (Hermit): unbiased, objective, accepting and non-judgmental (because we understand the vagaries of human nature)... and hopefully profound. Well, it gives me something to aim at, anyway!  ;)
