WANDS as Air or Fire, SWORDS as Air or Fire

Do you have a preference for decks that see Wands as Fire and Swords as Air?  Or vice versa?

Or does it matter?

 

I see Wands as Fire and Swords as Air, but I don't buy or trade a ton of decks am wondering for those of you with a lot of decks or super careful which decks you choose, does it matter how a deck views Wands or Swords to you at all?  A lot?

My first real deck was wands as air, swords as fire. Yeah, that set me up great for all my learning and future deck buying, haha. It biased me against the opposite for a long time.

 

Weirdly, for being elementally switched, the meanings weren't ever particularly different. Not even on cards where you'd think they would be, like aces or courts. So why were the elements even switched? The book says that it's because she sees swords as a tool of action, and wands as a mental ritual tool (something that made complete sense to me at the time, though I've since unlearned it and got used to the "traditional" meanings). But if that's the case, why is the ace of wands still all about action and the ace of swords still about thoughts? I think this is one companion book where I might consider copying down the decent bits then chucking it in storage while I write my own meanings out for the rest. Finally, a deck that has made me want to do that!

 

I think I still feel that wands as air and swords as fire makes the most actual logical sense, the comment my deck's creator made about the tools is sound to me, but it doesn't mesh with the meanings that go with the cards so making the switch would be difficult. I'd love to see a deck that has actually pulled it off.

I get it.  About how you start, which deck and the meanings.

 

I started with the opposite because that is how I learned and that made sense to me, I see how the OTHER way also does.

 

May I ask WHICH decks you may have with Wands as Air?  That was another thing, the decks I saw mainly had Wands as Fire, so I would really like to know what decks you have with the opposite.

It's the Celtic Dragon Tarot :3 I think that's the only one I currently have that's that way.
