Hemera Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Everyday Witch Tarot (D.Blake & E.Alba 2017 Llewellyn) King of Cups Pleaser Description: A King is sitting on his whale bone and seashell throne. Dolphins and a mermaid can be seen in the background. He looks content and happy. Images, symbolism, colours: Spyglass: He can see far. He is curious and interested in things that are out there, things outside of his immediate surroundings. From the Book (Everyday Witch Tarot, Llewellyn 2017): -generous, kind, calm, wise, tolerant -watching the world from a distance -keeping emotional distance -supportive Associations (idea from a book by Mary Greer) Plant: palm Animal: whale Landscape: ocean Music: guitar Art: oil colours Body of Water: ocean Traditional meanings (Mary K. Greer): -kind, good, chivalrous -aristocratic in bearing -intuitively wise, but can be hasty -quiet and gentle leader This card encourages: -encourages/warns: Keep emotional distance, withdraw Warns against: -cheating, robbery, bribery -sensual idleness -isolation Notes: -He is alone on his little island. Why has he separated himself from all others? Has he isolated himself? -He is conservative, a quiet and gentle leader who is not good with sudden changes -The book suggests it may be time to “leave your little island and join the rest of the world”. Maybe so, but in a reading, this could also mean the opposite, something like the Four of Swords: retreat, find quiet time of contemplation, withdraw etc.
