Hemera Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Everyday Witch Tarot (D.Blake & E.Alba 2017 Llewellyn) Page of Cups "Dreamer" Description: Young artist is standing by her easel and s/he is pausing to look at her painting. There are paints that have fallen on the ground. Her cape, witch’s hat and broom have been set aside while she paints. She is barefoot so it is probably a warm day. A small river and a tabby cat can be seen in the background. From the Book (Everyday Witch Tarot, Llewellyn 2017): This card can represent children, students or a certain frame of mind. Youthful enthusiasm. New craft, new love, new adventure. Running from one enthusiasm to another. Is this approach working for you? Learn new skills, open up to joy. You’re never too old to be young at heart. Associations (idea from a book by Mary K. Greer) Plant: buttercup Animal: rabbit Landscape: meadow Music: flute Art: acrylics Body of Water: brook Traditional meanings (Mary K. Greer): -Weak youth easily influenced. -Someone in arts and humanities. -Romantic, dreamy, naïve, sentimental -Psychic This card encourages: -be romantic -listen to your dreams and intuitions -enjoy your artistic ideas and projects Warns against: -heartache, teenage crushes (at any age!) -running from one enthusiasm to another -avoiding feelings that need to be dealt with -avoiding psychic/inner work Notes: -This is the first Page I’m taking a closer look at in this deck and the book text makes me wonder. If this card represents new love, new craft new adventure, what will be left for the other Pages/Knights? Also, I think craft is more of a Pentacle thing and adventure a Wand thing. -I think he enjoys making art but the results are probably not yet as mature as those of true artists (meaning the older Cups) -This would be the softest and dreamiest person of all the courts. I think Mary Greer says it best: “This child is concerned with connectedness, warmth and affection. [This is an] aspect of the child who needs to relate to the spiritual parent, so as not to direct his needs and longings to an actual parent” “In this child’s negative (reversed) manifestation s/he becomes the mama’s boy or daddy’s girl who can’t break the elementary bonds”
