I'll be using the Wander Light tarot mini, which I got with the Shadowlight.

I'm a little bit early this week, trying to make tomorrow an actual day of rest instead of "a day off where I have 30 things on my to-do list" day.     If I can cut my list in half it will be a very good thing....

And can you believe it's almost April already?????    I find it a bit shocking.  But I'm glad to be done with winter here.

OK this has been my deck of the month, but next week is the last week of the month so I need to really focus on it because I have had a lot of distractions.  I have not really joined in the deck of the week forum before so thought I would give it a try.  Please sign me up, the deck I am using this week is The Chrysalis Tarot.  I will see what you guys do and follow along.

welcome to the no-rules gang Jewel!

I'm using the Peanuts Gang deck this week, thanks VG.

I hope you manage a day of peace.

So hard to do when working full time. I Love being retired.

All my retired friends say that, LOL.    I haven't yet met anyone who says, "Oh, I hate it..."

And Welcome Jewel!    There really aren't any rules.  You can talk about your deck as much as you like, or not at all.    We are the no=rules thread.  :)

Wanderlight tarot - I just shuffled it and it's AWFULLY tiny.    So we'll see how I do.  I'm not really a mini-deck fan.

I'm in this week with the Tarot of the Sidhe paired with the Green Man Tree Oracle.

The roofers finally arrived, tore off wood and shingles, and put on a new roof! I was getting tired of the 'tarp' look. :D It's a good reason to celebrate, especially with Spring arriving.

Thank you for the thread, VG! <3

I'm in with the Ancestral Path Tarot.

My new large borderless version arrives from  U.S. Games TODAY!!!! :dancecat:

Until this week, I thought it was to be another deck self-published by Julia Cuccia-Watts. Anyway, I ordered from U.S. Games Tuesday night, and it will be here TODAY!

I'm sorry, I'm feeling giddy from all the dancing...

Did I already say my new large borderless Ancestral Path will be here TODAY? :egyptian:

This week I'll be using the Tarot of the Sidhe, created by Emily Carding and published by Schiffer. I'll also be using the Green Man Tree Oracle, created by John Matthews and Will Worthington with Connections as its publisher. Along with this oracle, I'll be adding information from Ogam: Weaving Word Wisdom by Erynn Rowan Laurie. Today's draws are Dancer Six (Six of Cups/Water) and Ivy:

six%2Bcups.jpg  ivy.jpg

From out of pleasant reverie,

Is born a joyful memory,

Of innocence and childhood play,

The simpler dance of yesterday...

Carding's poem for this card suggests fond memories of a contented childhood. While not everyone had such a safe and satisfying time growing up, most of us can remember a few times when we were loved by someone or times when we experienced happiness. When we relive these moments, they can sow gratitude in our hearts - as long as we don't get so wistful that we awfulize the present. The keys of contentment back then are still the same ones that can unlock today's doors: keep it simple, keep an open mind and look for what is good and beautiful in the here and now instead of focusing on what is terrible and ugly.

Ivy is a woody, evergreen vine that can be used as a ground cover. But their hairy, adhesive rootlets allow them to climb to heights of fifty feet or more. Planted near a tree, brick wall or trellis, this plant won't waste any time climbing it. Combined with the Six of Cups, these cards suggest we be prudent in what supports us, especially when it comes to the memories we ruminate on.

Unfortunately, I've been dealing with a headache all week and haven't looked at my new deck nearly as much as I would have liked. This morning I drew 2 cards: the Queen of Staves and the Prince of Cups. I feel like deliverance from this headache is at hand. Maybe I should drink more water. :D

Briefly, I cannot believe U.S. Games released this glorious new borderless Ancestral Path Tarot deck at the price of $22.95. IMO, this deck represents the greatest retail bargain among new tarot decks that I've encountered in 19 years. The more I get into it, the grandeur and opulence evident in these cards continues to astound me. I don't have the details behind the fine-tuning of the images for the new larger format, but it seems to me that Julia Cuccia-Watts has knocked it out of the park. There is new coloring, new shadowing, and actual changes in some of the details -- all of which lovingly support the transition from smallish-average size to huge. This deck is the same size as the first-edition Maat and Journey Into Egypt tarots. The same font has been used for the card titles. The card stock is different of course, and I love love love the stock in the Maat and Journey Into Egypt, but the stock in the Ancestral Path is excellent -- silky smooth, flexible -- not thick, but sturdy enough IMO. (I even figured out a way to riffle-shuffle it despite its size and my awful arthritis.) The stack measures 1-1/4 inches. (The stack in my original APT, printed in Belgium, measures 15/16ths of an inch.) In the end, I am beyond pleased with the production of the new APT -- I am ecstatic!

thanks for the update Squee. I think the exodus from trying to get the big three or four to privately printing has shaken up all the publishers and we are seeing some improvements for the consumer rather than the seller.

I've enjoyed playing with the Peanuts Gang this week although it hasn't improved my cranky attitude. I'm more Lucy than Linus anyway, not even sure why I fight it so ;)

This is a new-for-me deck that I've only used a few times, but I can see why you like it (I do too)! 😁

Madame Squee, that deck looks lush without the borders! Thanks for sharing the scans with us. 😁

I enjoyed the Wanderlight this week.  It is tiny though.    But it was quite insightful on a number of levels - some minor irritants going on this week.  Nothing horrid, just all those things that are cranky-making.

I might even see if there is a normal-sized deck available.
