l still can't figure out how to answer a post doing multi quotes.  when l have tried my reply goes in blue same as theirs

I'm not sure if there may be an easier way, but there are two ways people do it here. To break up the quotes, You would need to copy/paste the beginning code ([ quote author=stuff until closing bracket ] to the beginning of each spot where you want the breaks the start, then close the quote ([ /quote ] where you want the break to end. I've added spaces so you can what goes into the brackets as opposed to it actually created the quoted text but you if you copy/paste it in you won't need to adjust anything.

Alternatively, some people just quote the message and put their responses in bold type so they are easily recognizable. I have done it both ways.

If that first response doesn't make sense feel free to ask clarifying questions. I'm not sure how well I explained it.

Thank you AT l will give both suggestions a test and see how l do  <3

I just copied what I wanted from my profile and pasted it into a notepad app for now!

I’ll try to walk you through it step by step. To add your second quote you scroll down below the white text window and click on “insert quote” to the right of the post that you wish to select. It will then pop up as a second quote in your text frame. Make sure that there is space between them. Then make sure that your text is inserted after the

sign, otherwise it will be in blue. You can press preview to make sure it looks right before you post it. Feel free to practice in this thread. I can add screenshots of each steps later if you want me to.

Regarding your profile it’s easiest if you just copy and paste it into a word document.

Thanks Raggydoll l am practising at the moment, not having much luck   l will keep trying though l hate being beaten.

Just wanted to chime in and day that for me, literally just type the BB code in my reply.

So that's [ /quote ] (without the spaces) to end a quote and [ quote ] (again without spaces) to start a quote.

I just break up the text I'm quoting with those and type between the close-quote and the start-quote.

l think l can do it now!

is this correct?

You are doing it right, except that you need to remove the quote brackets on your reply. It’s only the text you are replying to that should have brackets on each side. Look at this screenshot to see what I mean

So your text “is this correct” should not have any quote brackets by it. Just erase them and see what happens!

Alas l cannot read the page you sent its too small and fuzzy.  Tried enlarging to no avail.  l think l will just post replies as l usually do by clicking bold.

Thanks to all who have tried to help this dumb-cluck  :redheart:

There isn't a multi-quote nice option like on AT (do you remember the little boxes with the person speaking out to the side on posts, you could select them all and press quote and all the quotes would be in the text box, it had them in the order you selected them!). Maybe the new forum will allow this.

Either here you gather all the quotes together (sometimes I press quote on posts to open into new browser tabs and then copy and paste the different quotes into a post). The second way of doing it is to quote one post, maybe the first post you want at the top and then with the text box open, go down the line of posts again and select "insert quote" on other posts. There isn't one easy way to do it here sadly  :heartz:

Thanks so much Dan l do not feel such a failure, l did find it very easy to do on AT.
