I am looking for a spread that will help me with the situation I am in right now. I will be moving out of my mom's house and into my grandparent's house, whom my mom does not like. I am doing this for financial reasons and health reasons. I would like a spread that will help me to determine the best way to tell my mom about it. Does anyone have any spreads that may help?

You could keep things really simple and use 3 positions:

1. The best approach/attitude

2. What to avoid

3. Something else you need to know/be mindful of

And you can pull more than one card for each position if you want to get a broader picture or more details. You could eliminate the last position but I find it to be a valuable one that can highlight things you might not have otherwise thought of.

But the easiest thing would just be to ask “Please advice me” and then pull one or more cards that you interpret as a whole. If you pull more cards then you preferably go by your intuition to know when the message is complete, but you can certainly decide on a number prior to shuffling.

One final idea is that you simply ask someone else to read for you if you are too emotionally invested that it would be difficult to interpret the cards for yourself.

Good luck!  :heartz:

I agree with Raggydoll here - it's one that calls for a simple approach.

However... alternatively (or subsequently), if you have two or more options available to you, I'd recommend what I call the 'Crossroads' spread. This involves pulling three cards for each option: benefits, challenges, and likely outcome. I usually find this gives me a clear push in one direction, if I need it.

Sorry you are dealing with this Rowan  :'( :heartz:

I had a look through the old tarot forum's archive and it was hard to find spreads that covered this but these could be helpful, you might need to change them around a bit for your situation but just some other spread ideas for you :)

Conflict Resolution Spread

How to deal with other people's difficult issues? by our very own Saskia[/member]

Reaction spread this one needs a bit of changing around to make it before you tell them.

There isn't too many spreads in this area and as well as Raggy's great spread idea, you can always freehand make your own with positions to make an exact fit or use some of the positions from the other spreads in it :) good luck with the situation!

A little self-promotion here, but, hey, Mars in Scorpio!

Two Paths Spread.

Path option 2-------------------Path option 1

--9----------------------------------6

---------8 ---------------------5

--------------7-----------4

--------------------3

---------------------------------------------

--------------------2 ----------------------

---------------------------------------------

--------------------1

---------------The present

1) What is the basis for your question?

2) What about the present will most greatly affect your decision?

3) What will divide the two paths?

4) What about my past suits this path?

5) What about the present suits this path?

6) The outcome should you choose this course of action.

7) What about my past suits this path?

8 )  What about the present suits this path?

9) The outcome should you choose this course of action.

I just scrolled past this and thought of this thread!

I use this one a lot, sometimes with an added grounding card that looks at the whole situation as an overview. I'm surprised at how clear things become.

That's interesting, Dr. Penelope[/member]. I do much the same, but usually draw a first card to represent the person within the situation, rather than the situation itself - it seems to tie them more closely into the spread that way.
