GrizzlyKt Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 hi folks does anyone have or know of a resource or book about the Minchiate ive got Brian Williams book which is great thank you for any help
Guest Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 There's this book in the OOP Minchiate kit by Lo Scarabeo but it's rare. The LWB's of bygone Minchiate editions are also helpful but most of them are in Italian. Google Translate is mighty helpful, but questions remain regarding its accuracy.

The LoS book is ok but it is too RWS-based for me.

When I read the Vitali book, I was surprised since I thought that if anything, the meanings should have hewn closer to the Marseille at least, since they have a more similar provenance. Williams is a scholar through and through, so his book should be bang on the money. Loved reading it - his enthusiasm for Italian art is infectious! And before I forget, @GrizzlyKt: the Minchiate Al Leone kickstarter last 2021 comes with a promising bilingual book by Amparo Aguirre. Too bad I missed that, though I think they're gonna mass release it eventually anyways? Now that's a book to watch out for.

Rachelcat Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 I already ordered it from the Llewellyn site! And I think it's on its way! Can't wait!

While the book is quite detailed, unfortunately it is fully in Italian. 😥
