Bodhiseed Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Tarot of the Absurd and Post-psychedelic Cyberpunk for me - thanks VG!
VGimlet Posted May 25, 2019 Author Posted May 25, 2019 I'll be using the Tarot 108 this week, starting today. I always say I don't like black and white tarot decks, but I guess I actually do. Heh.
Madame Squee Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 Please sign me up: TdM - Marteau Grimaud and Flonz Lenormand I am (anxiously) awaiting delivery of the TdM Millennium Edition deck. If it arrives this week, I will switch tarot decks. Thank you, VG 🌞
Guest Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I always sign up late! Please include me in this next run. The deck in use will be the beautiful Gill Tarot just republished by US Games.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I'm using the Frankendecken again this week, too fun. Thanks VG! Waves madly at everyone....

Now, I might not get stuff posted because I don't check in every day - but as the no rules thread, we don't count tardiness. 😛

Guest Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) A couple notes about The Gill Tarot, which I can't keep my hands off. It is a beautiful deck, did I mention that already? I find that it is the opposite of pretentious. Often, a lot of esoteric decks tend to have a more pretentious voice, this one is not. It is based on the Kircher tree, which I do without in most decks but in this deck, it is so approachable and seamlessly woven that it is not obtrusive nor superfluous. I'v also noticed that I prefer using the deck in bigger spreads, not elaborate, just bigger, with more cards. I tend to keep to three card spreads, and go from there. But this deck, and I think this is because fo the minors, really shines when many cards are on the table. I've used the 9 card spread and the council of 13. I imagine the astrological spread is real nice with the deck as well. I have a feeling, have yet to confirm, that the cards laid out lenormand style with a specific number of cards, say 21, will also let the deck shine with its qualities. I have more to say but will pop back in tomorrow. Edited May 28, 2019 by Guest spell check

I had never heard of this deck before it went out of print. I happened unto it by chance. I saw someone post a picture of the deck pips and I thought, what is this? When I went searching I found that the deck was the Gill. I traded for it and don't regret it at all. It's a beautiful deck.
