If You Could Pick a Person, Anyone You Like (Dead or Alive), To do a Reading for: Who Would It Be, And What Deck Would You Use?

Tongue in cheek, totally superficial answer -

Keanu.

Deck - irrelevant.

In all seriousness, I echo Katrinka's sentiments.

JFK, to tell him not to go to Dallas. Others warned him not to do that, though. He didn't listen.
MLK, to tell him not to go to Memphis. But it was inevitable, and he knew.

Any deck would do.

A kind of unambitious answer here but any of my closest friends. It makes me really happy to engage with tarot art and be a voice of insight to them at the same time. It really is a remarkable sort of unthreatening therapy and yet deeply felt (at least to me 😂). Plus, when I read tarot for myself, it's usually after a long period of struggling to problem solve it in my head, but not successfully. This doesn't happen often enough to meet my desire to appreciate tarot's beauty and power.

Oh and which deck- depends on the seriousness of the question, mostly. If I have to choose a deck beforehand I gravitate towards the Shadowscapes for in-person readings and the Tarot of the Spirit for online. My favourite deck of all time is the Tarot of the Spirit so I worry about other people's energies contaminating it. But it is truly a beautiful and arcane-feeling deck to pull out.

I would love to do a reading for my aunt whom passed away a long time ago. She was also into the spiritual world.

I would pick Jesus to do a reading for, and I would use the rider waite deck. I would like insights into why He chose to die on the cross for a sinner like me.

Hitler and I'd use the Hebrew deck.

I take it you're going for irony here?

Since I do my readings to help others, I would literally do a reading for anyone (past or present) who asked for one!

Right now however, I wish Donald Trump and or Meghan Markle would knock on my door and say, "Things aren't going so well for me at the moment...Could I please have a reading on how I can improve my standing with the public?" I think the cards would have a lot to say! 🙂

I want to read for Bill Murray, using the Noblet TdM deck. Simply because Bill Murray is awesome, and so is the Noblet TdM.

Maybe odd, but I'd choose my maternal grandmother. She died while my mother was very young (about 10 years old), so I never got to know her.

I feel like giving her a reading would let me know more about here and interact with her while exploring the the differences between our generations. The deck wouldn't matter too much to me, so maybe the RWS would be fine.

I would pick my relative - great, great, great grandfather - who decided to leave Sweden and come to America, about a week after he made the decision, using my RWS deck....and my runes!!

would be interesting to see what was going on mentally/spiritually there...

I'd do a reading for my great grandmother Elizabeth, who migrated from Yorkshire to Sandhurst, Victoria in 1874, and then moved to South Africa or back to Yorkshire some time in the 1890's.  I'm trying to find the answer to where she went through the usual sources but I'd like to ask the Tarot first.  I might use a Marseille for this and then check the answer against the facts when I find them.

Fabulous idea!
