I'll be using the ViseVersa Tarot this coming week.

I always like these kinds of RWS derived decks.  :)

I'll be using two quite different decks in artwork, but maybe not so different in system? A contrast like that sounded like fun when I looked over my list, so Wild Unknown and Centennial it is ;D I only hope I can get the reading I did for the year ahead written down so I can put the cards back in the Wild Unknown. And the Everyday Witch Tarot should be coming in on maybe Tuesday so I might be too tempted to not use it.. let's put that down too!

ITS TIME TO GET SPOOPY

I've been looking forward to working with the Ritual Abuse deck, so when I started DotW, I figured I might as well save it for October. I'll definitely be using it for the whole month, but its going to be my study deck this week.

Already October!! September went by so fast, especially compared to the dregs of August...

My new deck did not come as fast as I though but it has arrived in time for this week! I've already been using the Slutist all night and tomorrow I'll give it a real proper shuffling. I'm so excited!  ;D

First time I'll get to join you guys here in TT&M and I'm pumped. For my opening salvo, I shall be using the Barbara Walker Tarot and my new deck: the Wild Unknown Tarot. :)

Ah, but I've been thinking about that deck for quite some time! Do you have the deck only or the kit? My RWS phase is just winding down, and I've learned to love the system due to my undying passion for the Centennial. And now I want to explore fresh and new perspectives on the RWS school. Both the After Tarot kit and the Vice Versa Tarot kit call to me, and I don't think I'd be able to resist their siren call for long.

So how do you find the it, VGimlet? Have you read with it before, or is it the first time you'll handle it? Do you find it easy to work with, and do your readings flow smoothly? How much do you like it, and would you recommend it?

I used the randomizer today and it picked out Navigators for me and I am happy! It is a great deck but not often on the forefront of my mind.

I bought the book for it even, but to be honest I think my reading without the book were more interesting.

Also it is a deck where I love the minors and courts more then the majors since those feel a bit intimidating with the sheer amount of details they have.

Thank you for the thread, VG!

I'm in with the Distant Path Tarot this week. I need its peaceful blues, greens and aquas in my life right now.

Also, please sign me up with the Rana George Lenormand -- a deck full of serene images, all sparkling like a clear brook.

I am thoroughly enjoying working with my Gilded Tarot and will continue with it for this next week. Although I have cheated a teensy bit and used my Universal Waite for a reading, but it was what appeared to be best for that (used a pendulum to pick it out). And, though I didn't use it this past week, I've still got my A'HA Oracle out ...

Page of Ghosts - The Wild Unknown, Centennial and (maybe) Everyday Witch Tarot

Hi Page of Ghosts! I just unboxed the Wild Unknown Tarot Keepsake Set yesterday and when I opened it, it was all I thought it would be, and more. The production value of the set is top-notch, certainly one of the very best I've ever seen. The slowly reveal from the peeling of the shrink wrap (lol) to the removal of the slide-in cover to the opening of the sturdy, handsome keepsake box to the perusal of the exquisitely-made guidebook to accessing the solildly-built deck box until I finally got to the reveal of the cards beautifully sleeping underneath - that in itself is a ritual - a spectacle of mounting excitement and awe. The material is simply peerless - I found myself marveling at how thick and dreamily pleasant to the touch the cards are. Nothing was skimped, no corners were cut, and all this at $40 (tho I bought it at around US$37 here in Manila). The only misgiving I had was the noticeable ding in the upper left corner of the box (darn the courier), but you can hardly fault the publisher for that right?

If Tarot decks are produced like this, I would be very willing to pay so much more than that. I heard they're going to publish the Oracle complement next year. Yeah that one's gonna be mine too.

In any case, a busload of thanks for calling my attention to this deck, Page of Ghosts and Onaorkal! That is one of the most fruitful deck pushes I've ever had in any forum. And yeah, this is one Tarot I shall be using for a loooong time. :)

I love The Wild Unknown, but just found that I lost one of my cards - The Ace of Cups - in my move to a new apartment. So sad! I find that this deck is fantastic for when I'm feeling particularly introspective.

Hey that's too bad. I've read that some readers just replace a missing card by assigning a fly card to it, but I just remembered that the Wild Unknown doesn't have any.

Some Tarot publishing houses are gracious enough to send replacements for missing cards. Have you tried emailing Harper to request for it? :)

That's a great idea! I'll see if they'll consider replacing it. [emoji3]

I'm so glad you like it and I hope it works well for you in your readings this week ;D I especially like that there is a smaller box inside the set for just the cards so you won't have to take the whole thing with you if you like to keep a deck in your bag or backpack. I did a pretty big reading (big to me, 14 cards!) for the year ahead with this deck so I need to write it all down before I can use it... 6 cards to go now! And I didn't know they're bringing the oracle to a major publisher, it's definitely going on my list  8)

I hope your year-ahead reading turns out to be fruitful, Page of Ghosts! Now I have to think of a fitting spread to use the Wild Unknown with. :D

And yup, the Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Deck and Guidebook is going to be printed by Harper, which AFAIK is the same publisher of the Wild Unknown Tarot. It's scheduled to be released around the end of March next year. I hope it won't get delayed.

Here's a link to its page. Enjoy!:

I also have the Navigators Tarot, and since I'm a Thothie through and through (try to repeat that quick), this deck speaks so much to me too. It's a good thing you have the companion book tho, as it's very expensive right now.

This week I'll be using the Gill Tarot, created by Elizabeth Gill and published by U.S. Games. The oracle deck I'll be using with it is The Circle, created by D.R. Taylor and published by Versation Publishing. Today's draws are the Five of Swords and Spirit Guides:

5sw.jpgguides_0002.jpg

Gill explains the four swords at the bottom of the card are "interwoven between the clouds of illusion." What beliefs do I hold that are based on false ideas? Have I held onto expectations that have a snowball's chance in hell of being fulfilled? Persistence can be a positive trait unless evidence proves it fallible. There is however a fifth sword in the card that points upward, away from the clouds - a symbol of clarity. Unfortunately my stubbornness can sometimes necessitate learning through loss. The Circle card suggests that I consult my spirit guides after undergoing such a mental wallop. I would like to believe there are angels or other guides willing to help, but I've lost my faith in such things. However I do often ask myself, "What would ____ do?"

~My cat - find a comfy spot in a shaft of sunlight and take a nap.

~My grandfather (deceased) - go for a walk.

~The sycamore tree - let your roots go deep to seek out what will nourish you.

~My grandmother (deceased) - call up some friends and play some cards.

There's always advice from unexpected resources to be found.

So how do you find the it, VGimlet? Have you read with it before, or is it the first time you'll handle it? Do you find it easy to work with, and do your readings flow smoothly? How much do you like it, and would you recommend it?

This is my first time using it so far, and so far it's been good.  The deck shuffles well, and so far it's been smooth reading.    Not sure if I'd recommend it yet, because of the double sided cards.  I personally find them interesting to use but others might not agree.    I got the kit version, which is well done.    I have been letting my intuition tell me what side of the cards I need to read, and so far it's been pretty accurate.

After a busy start to my vacation with  a breakfast retirement party for my co-workers,  a book signing in Seattle for another long-time friend (kids book author Toni Yuly) , and a flurry of other errands I'm finally able to take a breath and get up to date here too.  :)

Oh, and welcome EmpyreanKnight!  (or is that welcome back...well, whichever.  Welcome!)

Thanks VGimlet! If you can really use the Vice Versa that well, I mean if you do reversals it should be like having 78 X 4 cards, right? It's just so intriguing.

Maybe I'd take a wait and see approach. If I get it out of my system, I'd desist, but if not I'm just gonna grab it and to hell with everything lol.

And thanks again for the warm welcome. :)

Oo, good to know! I was torn on getting that oracle but if a cheaper version is coming that takes me off the fence a bit! I've heard that the difference in cardstock between the mass-produced and indie versions wasn't too bad, just a bit thinner which would be fine for an oracle since I tend to use them less anyway.
