loveheartlight Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 (edited) Had a bewildering dream? Can the Tarot help elucidate? I believe so. Dreams and the Tarot speak the same language: the language of images, metaphor, and senses. Before you begin the spread, as soon as you wake up, write down all the details you remember from the dream. This is an important step. From your short summary, list down words that you want the Tarot to help you with. For example: In my dream I was needing some sugar. I am trying to lose weight but one bag of sugar shouldn't hurt. I was at the grocery paying and the cashier had a knowing smile at me. Her teeth were blue. I reach down for my purse to get money. I find out I am naked. What you do then is make a list of the images in your dream that struck an emotional chord in you or what you want to know the meaning of. Your list need not be limited in number. You can write down as many as you want. a) sugar b) cashier c) blue teeth d) being naked Then you draw these cards. Card 1 = Why did I get this dream? What aspect of my life or underlying issue does the dream want me to look at? Card 2 = My dream self. Tell me about my dream self. This character or persona that my mind created to represent me in the dream. Then you draw cards for the specific images you listed down. So, in my sample above, I'll need to draw four more cards, Card A, B, C, and D, to help me interpret their meaning. You draw two more cards. Card 3 = What did I forget? (Often, as we wake up, we forget some important details of the dream. No need to beat yourself up trying to recall. Just draw one card to represent anything you might have forgotten upon waking up, and trust that the Unconscious will communicate this to you via the Tarot.) Card 4 = Advice card. What do I need to change? What have I been avoiding that I need to face? What is the dream wanting me to do or respond? Hope this helps. Edited October 9, 2019 by loveheartlight
