katrinka Posted December 20, 2017 Posted December 20, 2017 This is the only large image I can extract from that page: But hmmm wait. The playing card insets aren't the same as the ones on the Owl decks. They appear to be taken from these old Dondorf playing cards - look at the Jack of Hearts.
DownUnderNZer Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Looks German maybe - kind of like Ur Lenormand which is another one I recently acquired.
EmpyreanKnight Posted December 21, 2017 Author Posted December 21, 2017 I ordered the same one created by the artist (I think) which was released in October 2017 only I did not know about it until recently. There is one in October 2017 and one in January 2018. The same deck from what I can gather. So, it should be arriving in the next week or two. I hope you enjoy it! Mine already arrived, I just haven't opened it yet. I have to say tho: the red box it came in is BIG.

Even the clubs in the pips have the distinct Dondorf style.
katrinka Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Club Karte pattern. http://www.wopc.co.uk/germany/dondorf/club-karte-86 When you open it, let us know if all the courts match, or if they've cherry picked from other Dondorf decks. Old Bernhard made some stunners. :D
DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 So are the CARDS - unbelievably massive in size. The THOTH deck of all Lenormand! Got them today and just opened them whilst eating at my fave Sushi restaurant, but I am not about to ruffle through them like I planned. I did not expect them to be this large. I ordered the same one created by the artist (I think) which was released in October 2017 only I did not know about it until recently. There is one in October 2017 and one in January 2018. EmpyreanKnight Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 I'm curious as to which spread you will break it in with, DND. Do you conduct deck interviews with your new Lennies?
DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 No. Never interviewed any deck. Seen some talk about it with Tarot though and post them. These cards are BIG - so space is something people will need. :o :o :o Not sure what I will do with them yet, but unlikely a GT. I'm curious as to which spread you will break it in with, DND. Do you conduct deck interviews with your new Lennies?
DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 GOLDEN LENORMAND and BLUE OWL SIZE DIFFERENCE
DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 GOLDEN LENORMAND RIDER & BLUE OWL RIDER RIDERS The glittery gold seen in the Golden Lenormand is truly beautiful, but I cannot get it right with the lighting as it is raining outside so overcast. Not really easily visible unless on an angle. I may have to get another one as a backup as already I like it and I haven't even opened it! And that is despite the size.
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 Yeah the cards are HUUUUGE. I noticed that tho the foil is not stingy, it's tastefully applied so that it does not distract from the actual images, which I've heard is a big no-no in Lenormands. No gilt edges tho. The companion booklet is around the same size as the cards and has basic information on the Lenormand. It's written by Lunaea Weatherstone. Like most Lo Scarabeo offerings it has writeups in many languages - in this case 6. The section in English has 36 pages. And the box is very sturdy, with a red ribbon to help you ease the book and cards when you want to get them. I noticed that Lo Scarabeo's boxes have vastly improved this 2017. I have their Tarocchi Sola Busca, Tarocchino Mitelli, the regular edition of the Santa Muerte, and this Golden Lenormand. With this kind of packaging, I'm willing to pay a premium. :) I also haven't unsealed the cards yet, tho I can see the Rider card and the back. I will do so at the right time. :) Like you, I've fallen for it, DND. I don't know why there's a lack of buzz around it. Maybe it's the size? Welp, more for us then. :P
DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Blue Owl is my utmost all time favorite deck and the Golden Lenormand is in the exact same image except for all the gold and cards with Kings and Queens etc. It is truly a beautiful deck and I am surprised to hear that it is not popular. More for US indeed and because of that, I will scoop up a few more because if this has no demand -guess what? It may not be printed again for a while once it sells out. The gold distracting? I have seen Lenormands that have far more distractions going on and some you have to guess what the heck the image actually is! I will post a few more images trying to show the beauty of the Gold in it and at least one court card insert image. Yeah the cards are HUUUUGE. DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 GOLDEN LENORMAND: HEART CLOSE UP In this one, the gold foil can be seen, but I have had to kind of do it at an angle and close to the same level. This one has a different court card insert image in comparison to the Blue Owl as anyone can see that is familiar with the deck. I actually like these King, Queens, and Jacks better!

It may not be printed again for a while once it sells out. Oh dear. That's just what I feared. I think I'll play wait and see - maybe people haven't noticed it yet since even tho it was released months ago, the publication date did say January 2018. It just bothers me that there are no reviews on Amazon yet. Actually - it seems like I currently can't find a review anywhere at all. The gold distracting? I have seen Lenormands that have far more distractions going on and some you have to guess what the heck the image actually is! Yup, that's why I said that the gold does not distract from the images at all.
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 3, 2018 Author Posted January 3, 2018 Btw, thanks for the comparison pics DND! I must say - I like the more vividly-colored royals on this one better. Regarding the reviews I mentioned - I just trawled through Google again and well - I did manage to find a single one and it's on YouTube. It's by Traceyhd. You guys can check it out here so that you guys have an idea as to what the set is like.
DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 I like how she pronounces or mispronounces Lenormand, but a very good video as it does show all the cards, the box, and the sturdiness etc. And the gold does not distract in any way. Thanks for the video. Btw, thanks for the comparison pics DND! I must say - I like the more vividly-colored royals on this one better. DownUnderNZer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Had a weak moment and put in another order! Should be here in a week or two. ;D ;D ;D Really like it and think this could be something I would use at home rather than out. Am rather naughty as this has gone straight ahead of a few other things in a queue which I am getting to now Christmas is all over.
Magickjack Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Dang! I'm so not into big cards but these are really beautiful! In the vid she says they are as big as her hand? are we talking large Thoth size?
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 The Thoth is a tad longer. The cards measure around 4" X 5"

I know I will once I get into the Lenormand system. I'd definitely buy some extra copies too before it's gone. :)
katrinka Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 So...do all the courts match the Dondorf Club Karte?
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 I only opened the box to see the contents but I haven't unsealed the cards yet. However, the video I linked earlier showed all of the cards, and upon checking it - yup, the courts all match the figures in your pic, katrinka. :)
katrinka Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 It's an Owldorf, then. You know, like a Labradoodle. ;D
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 Lol that sounds apt, tho I'd go for Euledorf. Labradoodles are so cute, like they were made to be hugged. ;D
