RavenOfSummer Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I just saw Lisa Hunt is doing art for a new deck that is a collaboration with Lynn Araujo. Some additional card images can be seen on Lisa's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lisahuntart/ The deck has the theme of "offering gentle lessons from the idyllic countryside." AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 there is another by that name, although with 40 cards it is an oracle. http://eng.loveandlivewellness.com/pastoral-tarot.html I am not on twitter, would love more images as you see them, thanks for letting us know
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I thought the art looked familiar, and when I looked up Lisa Hunt, I thought of course it is, she created the Ghosts and Spirits Tarot after all, which is a very fitting deck to read on chilly October nights. And oh the stories it tells.

And oh the stories it tells. Ooh, I have been thinking about that deck EmpyreanKnight! Your description of it makes it all the more tempting to me. The season has me in the mood for such a deck! I may have to add it to my wish list after reading your thoughts on it :) Lisa Hunt also did the Fairy Tale Tarot, Animals Divine Tarot, and Winged Enchantment Oracle as well as a few others. She is quite prolific!
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Oh RavenOfSummer, I assure you that you won't regret having this deck, especially if you're into horror and ghostly lore. Specter bridegrooms, the horrifying tale of Oiwa, hungry ghosts and white ladies, ekinmu and black dogs and a lot of other haunts besides. The minors in particular are a treasure trove. Here is the LWB of the deck, which you can download off the US Games site. It contains the corresponding ghosts portrayed in each card. A high-res video of all the cards can be watched in Youtube so you can have a pretty good idea of what the deck looks like. On a cold and rainy night, get the cards out along with your smartphone/laptop that has internet access. Get a platter of cookies and some delicious mug of hot choco too. Get one card and meditate on the images that you see. Read the little story written in the LWB, then search the net for similar stories. As your eyes gape in wonder at all the tales you've read, think about how you'd relate it to the images you see on the card. Repeat this cycle for as many cards as you can, because I doubt you'll finish the entire deck in one night. This is a very delicious way to spend the night by your lonesome, and it'll help you bond with the deck as well. I hope you can handle it tho, as some of the stories are really weird and creepy. I had to stop a few times lol. I guess I'm just easy to amuse. ;D

Although you're right, I might get scared :-s I can't watch horror movies at all because I don't sleep for weeks after if I do, but at the same time I have always been drawn to the mysteries of the dark, the otherworldly, etc. So I think this deck might really be for me, and I love your detailed idea of a way to use it. Thank you <3
Mi-Shell Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Oh, very interesting! this one may not have enough "bite" as a deck for me, but i have a younger friend, who would just LOOOOOOVE it! :)

EmpyreanKnight Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 It's almost Friday the 13th where you're at, FLiz. You know that it's time.
gregory Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 I don't like the look of the face in the image shown. This bugs me. I hate decks with faces that don't look like actual faces... Actually the whole person looks wrong, to me. Shame - I like Lisa's work...

RavenOfSummer Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Here's a few more deck images from Lisa's Instagram:
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 there are quite a few images on her website now, and says a 2021 publish https://www.lisahuntart.com/pastoral-tarot
sixdegrees Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 The horizontal paintings will make for interesting horizontal cards (I assume). Not sure if I'm willing to add this one to my collection. I find Lisa Hunt's art gorgeous, but I haven't had much success actually reading with her decks in the past.
Bodhiseed Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 I'm not a fan of horizontal cards, but this deck looks gorgeous and readable.😊👍
Quester Posted April 4, 2021 Posted April 4, 2021 Looks very promising!! I will be looking forward to more information!!1
Nemia Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 This deck arrived today in my house. I simply love watercolour art, I love the countryside, I love gentleness and nostalgia. Oh, and I love Lisa Hunt's decks, and until I can get my hands on the Fairytale Tarot, I'll be content with this one. I'll have to see how it reads but I have the feeling it's quite RWS based and is quite nuanced in its interpretation.
Saule Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 I stumbled upon this deck 20 minutes ago. Watched a full flipthrough on Youtube and immediately knew I had to have it! I can somewhat relate to the images - they remind me of my childhood days living in the countryside. I absolutely LOVE the vibes, and I feel like the cards can easily be connected to create one big story. It seems quite gentle so I'm not sure how it'll do with tougher messages and lessons, but we'll see. @Nemia, how does it read? :)
Nemia Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 I have to get used to the horizontal/landscape format, did only smaller readings with it, but it reads well for me. I found some of the details very illuminating. There is something to connect to on a personal level, even though I have no personal connection to the world depicted. The natural setting is even more impressive than the persons depicted, at least for me.

Great to hear that it reads well :) I have also noticed some little details that would add a lot to the reading, especially if taking the intuitive approach. I actually love the horizontal format - so much that I started looking for more decks that look like this. I feel like horizontal decks show off more of the card somehow, if that makes sense.
Nemia Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 (edited) I have Lisa Hunt's Fairy Tale Lenormand, Ghosts and Spirits, Shapeshifter and a beautiful book about goddesses. I wish the Fairy Tale Tarot was in print again! I love her art. Edited November 3, 2023 by Nemia

Lisa Hunt wrote a post in her blog on May 2023 saying it will be published by US Games Systems Inc. and she is preparing materials now. Not sure if I can post a link here but you can find it on Google. Needless to say I am VERY hyped!

May need to pull it out and give it a try.
gregory Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 For some reason this one leaves me cold (I haven't seen it in person, mind.) I like her other decks, but this... the more I look at it - meh.
