Hi everyone

A newbie.

Had cards before - now starting again.
Not a big fan of the rider Waite tarot deck - I don't know why not - but I just don't feel attached to the cards.

So looking for tips for a nice beginner deck.
Also got the Wild Unknown Tarot - with which I do feel connected. But maybe not the easiest to start with.
Hope to learn from all of you!

Hello @Caerrha welcome to the TT&M Family When I was looking for additional decks, someone suggested to go on YouTube and search for 'unboxing' videos. Most of those will go through each card which is fabulous.

hi @Caerrha Welcome to the forum! I second the suggestion of the unboxing videos- great resource! Also if you have a metaphysical store nearby, sometimes they will have sample decks open to have a look at. (mine does 🙂 ) In the beginning, I felt similarly to you- the RW didn't resonate. But I persevered, and somehow we have a synergy now.... for me it was like building any relationship, we had to get to know each other! The RW has become my personal deck, although i use others as well for readings for others such as the Motherpeace, or Thoth .

I agree with the posters above, youtube flipthroughs of decks are the way to go. I make sure I can 'gel' with most of the cards before adding the deck to my wishlist.

Saturn Celeste advised me on another RW deck - and now I have one I feel comfortable practicing with.

Not in need for new decks anymore - but will keep in my mind your advices when I feel the urge.

@MissJones the Radiant Rider Waite. For some reason the other RW deck scared me, this one does that less.

@Caerrha that's a great deck, they are a lot less intimidating when they have that extra pop of colour and clarity 😊

@Caerrha, Yes that's a great one! I've also found the Radiant Wise Spirit deck to be a wonderful re-coloration.🙂
