Aldor44 Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Greetings dear community! I am looking to transition from the detailed decks into more of a pip decks but not yet 100% pip I am looking for good suggestions for these kinds of decks. One I have been using is the Wild Unknown -which for me started the transition from a highly illustrated pictures to more simplified- less detailed ones but still with some images. Any other decks you feel would suit me please let me know! Cheers!!
MissJones Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 (edited) Ooooh lovely topic! I saw a deck called Minimalist Tarot a while back, which only uses triangles for symbolism, but it's not everyone's style. I also remember a deck coming out a couple of years ago where each card was styled to look like an inkblot test, and I quite liked the idea of bringing forth the reader's & querent's emotions first, and relying more on intuition... after a quick Google it looks like it might have been the Hidden Waters Tarot? That might be interesting and a neat way to move away from recognisable imagery 😊 Edited November 10, 2019 by MissJones Shocking proof-reading and grammar haha
Flaxen Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 The Thoth is a good transition - the pips are very evocative in that deck. You could also try: Dragon tarot - Nigel Suckling The Stone Tarot Vision Quest Old English Crystal Tarot (Trevisan)
reall Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 How about Ethernal Sand of Time Egypt Tarot of St Germain?;) there is free downlad guidebok in public domain you can check to give you idea about card meaning?;) https://sites.google.com/view/myluckycard/ethernal-sand-of-time-tarot & my color coding should help easy pip interpretation?;D
Jewel Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 If you are not adverse to nudity there is also the Cosmic Tribe. There is also the Via, Ananda, and Glastonbury Tarots. You can also look at Thoth based decks to find what you are looking for. They have what I call "moody minors" they are not straight pips are not fully illustrated minors either.
VioletEye Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 one that sounds like it might fit the bill is the new century tarot. it's really beautiful, i'm surprised i don't see it mentioned more often! the minor arcana are pip-like, but still have a touch of RWS-style illustration.
