Carojulie Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 And, last but not least, the gorgeous metallic inks in all their glory ! A big thank you to Baba Studio for making these beauties for us :) - Left are the silver inks (top : Bohemian Gothic 2d edition ; bottom : Bohemian Gothic 3d edition) - Right are the gold inks (top : Victorian Flower oracle ; bottom : Mythical Creatures tarot)
Carojulie Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 And my favourite amongst favourites is : Victorian Flower Oracle by Baba Studio. Oh the delicacy and opulency of these dark gold ribbons ! Swoon !
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 18, 2017 Author Posted October 18, 2017 The Steampunk and Flower Oracle backs were quite impressive, Julie! I see that our Wild Unknown ha e different backs, I guess since they have different editions. :)
Carojulie Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Hi Knight, wich edition of the Wild Unknown do you have ? On mine (1st ed) I quite like that the lines on the back are handmade, that gives them an "oh so slightly" uneven look that gives an organic vibe while still being very stark. I have seen that on the mass market edition, the back shows a criss cross of lines that have the same handmade quality and vibe, but I still like my backs a little better I think (though I do like both in the end).
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 I have the 3rd Edition Mass Market Wild Unknown, Carojulie. The squiggly lines in the back are kinda similar to those in the first edition, tho they do not form a noticeable diamond pattern.
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 Here is a pic of the back of the Wild Unknown 3rd Edition
Guest KnightsQuest Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I have this OOP Thoth deck in my collection that i never use. It went by the name of Hexerey - the backs are kind of unusual so i kept it
CherryNukaCola Posted December 4, 2018 Posted December 4, 2018 The Arcana Tarot, Daniloff Tarot, Pagan Otherworlds Tarot, Prisma Visions and Mary-El all have great backs IMO.
Rarehare Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Just curious, but tarot card reviews tend to primarily show the faces of the cards and not the backs, yet I’d think that having a pretty back to a card enhances the overall experience. Which decks do you think have the prettiest backs?
queenofwans Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 My favorites card backs are from the Fairytale Tarot, Dreamkeepers Tarot, and Ostara Tarot
Jewel Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 Just curious, but tarot card reviews tend to primarily show the faces of the cards and not the backs, yet I’d think that having a pretty back to a card enhances the overall experience. Which decks do you think have the prettiest backs? Very true, and that use to bother me so when I started writing deck reviews I chose to always make one of the images the back of the card. They are important to many readers.
