VGimlet Posted November 23, 2019 Author Posted November 23, 2019 Once again same decks, Ananda and Twin Tarot. Maybe this week? I just have been too busy with NaNoWriMo, work and the puppies (why did I think having two at the same time was a good idea again? LOL. No, they are good, but very...busy....) I think this is the longest I haven't touched a deck since I started doing a DOTW a long time ago, before there was a thread. I am getting close with Nono, about 5,000 words to finish. I still have a lot of writing to do to finish what I'm working on, but it's been a great experience this year.
Bodhiseed Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Congrats on your writing progress, VGimlet, and thanks for the new thread. 🌻 I'm in this week with the Osho Zen Tarot paired with the A'HA Oracle.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Greenwood. Makes the hair rise on my neck to just pick it up. What a deck. VG, I just finished (a not very good) book where a ghost trapped in a bobcats body was using the computer to do deep searches on the bad guys 😉 It made his claws hurt terribly. I thought about you pounding away on your keyboard, faithfully, doggedly, determinedly. You go girlfrin'!
Amberjune Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Thank you for the new thread, VG. And congratulations on your writing progress! I'm in with the Arthurian Tarot by the Matthews and the Sacred Rebels by Alana Fairchild and Autumn Skye Morrison.
Mi-Shell Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 I will be joining you all again with the Herbcrafter's Tarot. My emphasis this week will be more on the actual herbs on the cards and how I feel about them fitting/ jiving with the tarot card they are on.
Mi-Shell Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Oh, have I reported, that in my deck I have 2 Fool cards - identical ones?! Crazy thing is, yesterday i drew the one - and today i drew the other = I am twice fooled!

No, not twice fooled, but there is definitely an important message that you are meant to hear, dear Mi-Shell. 🙂
Bodhiseed Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 This week I'll be using the Osho Zen Tarot, created by Ma Deva Padma with Osho and published by St. Martin's Press. I'll also be using the A'HA Oracle, created and self-published by Linnie Lambrechtsen. Today's draws are the Lovers and Temple of Gentle Reasoning: Love is space. It is developing our own capacity for spaciousness within ourselves to allow others to be as they are. That is love. And that doesn’t mean that we don’t have hopes or wishes that things are changed or shifted, but that to come from a place of love is to be in acceptance of what is, even in the face of moving it towards something that is more whole, more just, more spacious for all of us. —Rev. Angel Kyodo Williams This Lovers card has two images of the same set of partners, one of which is inside a heart. As Padma explains, there is a whole spectrum of love: "as we begin to mature, we can begin to experience the love that exists beyond sexuality and honors the unique individuality of the other." Sex, while exciting and pleasurable, is just the tip of the iceberg in deeply committed relationships. The Temple of Gentle Reasoning (the heart) resembles a stupa - a hemispherical structure containing relics of Buddhist teachers that is used as a place of meditation. It reminds me that true love requires me to look beyond any fixed ideas I might have about it, to allow it enough space and freedom so each individual can continue to develop over time. As one-half of a decades-old partnership, I am beginning to understand this wisdom.
ShadowMoon Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 I'd like to participate this week too... I may have to carry forward this deck for one more week though. My deck of choice which I really want to learn about is: The Indian Folktale Tarot: A Hindi and English Bilingual Deck by Dr, Ruchi Rastogi What I already love about this deck is the correlation to Hindu Mythology, which makes each card that much easier for me to read (being a Hindu myself, no points for guessing that). As per the reviews, the author has put in a genuine effort to maintain the authenticity of RWS Tarot Cards, researched each mythical being to accommodate the cards specific meaning. This has me intrigued, even given my limited knowledge. Am sort of excited about this 🙂
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 (edited) welcome Moody! What an interesting project this must have been for Dr. Rastogi, I was just reading about her classes at the Indian Tarot Conference, wish I could have been there. this group doesn't have any Rules, the only point being to work through all our decks in rotation. Otherwise some of our poor babies would never see the light of day Edited November 24, 2019 by AJ-ish/Sharyn
Bodhiseed Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Welcome @iMoodyCrab! That sounds like a great deck to work with this week.
VGimlet Posted November 24, 2019 Author Posted November 24, 2019 (edited) Welcome iMoodyCrab! Very interesting deck! I love that Osho Zen, even though the background story is kind of creepy....but the deck is gorgeous. Got to 50,000 words for Nanowrimo - and I'm still working on my writing, but my self-imposed pressure is sooo much better today. I might even touch my decks this week, haha. I bought a deck years ago, then gave it away when I did some research on Osho. But then I got Padma's oracle deck and decided to get the OZ tarot again. I can enjoy her art and commentary and ignore his. He reminds me of that quote that says if you treat a person like a god, they'll soon start acting like they are one.
