FlyingTacoMoose Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I am new here so I hope this is the right forum to post this in. On New Year's Eve I wanted to do a spread to map out the energies of the upcoming year. Could anyone suggest their favorite new year spreads? I would love to see all of the different ones you all know and come up with!
Raggydoll Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Great topic!! (I moved it to Tarot spreads.) Previous years I’ve laid out 12 cards in a circle and one extra card in the middle (as signifying the 12 months plus an extra card for something especially significant that’s coming.) This year I did things differently and I also did some new year readings for others. You can see the layout of those readings in my little corner: https://www.thetarotforum.com/forums/forum/107-raggydolls-little-place/
FlyingTacoMoose Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 Thanks for the reply @Raggydoll, I really like the idea of that spread! I will probably end up going with it unless some other readers have any other suggestions. Thanks for moving the thread, I don't believe this forum was open to me when I was under five posts!
lucksmith Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) I have this one in my book, maybe you like it. It is based on the Celtic Wheel of the Year: @RaggydollI like your "2&3" Spread very much as it is so versatile for literally any timeframe and very flexible to combine. Thanks for pointing it out 🤗 Edited December 31, 2019 by lucksmith

Mi-Shell Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Here is the Old Year to new Year spread: 1. What do I leave behind in the Old Year? 2. What do I open up to in the New Year? 3. Key Opportunity of the New Year 4. Key Challenge of the New Year 5. Hidden concern (pull from bottom of the deck) 6. Deep Wisdom / Advice from God/dess (pull from middle of the deck) 7. Key Theme of the New Year If you keep records of your readings, the last card (#7) could become the first card (#1) in next year’s spread.
le_charior Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 I really like the New Year Spread on The Little Red Tarot Blog from a few years back. It is basically three cards in the middle for your present situation, two cards on the left as Dusk, what you leave behind, two cards on the right as the Horizon, what you are moving forward to, two cards on top as the focus and one on the bottom as a tool you can use. I like the openness it allows within the positions. Did a nice reading for myself with it and will do readings for a few friends on New Year’s Eve.
