PathWalker Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 (edited) Tides and Seasons The Four Elements Questions and the meditation "The Cleansing of the Caers" There are several pages of writing associated with this lesson, and then the following four questions: 1. Review the seasons of the year in relation to your life: which season is easiest, and which most difficult for you? 2. What kinds of weather are easiest/ most difficult? 3. What is your best time of day? When does your energy become lowest? 4. Which is your natural element? Then there's quite a long guided meditation which moves you through each of the four compass directions, and the tower or "Caer" you might find there. As this is the last of initial lessons, which can be done at any time of the year, there is then a short page about self-assessment. How we can understand our own progress and how it is beneficial not just to ourselves. Once all of the five lessons is complete you can begin on one of the four Quests of the Hallows, linked with each suit and season - Swords+ Spring, Spear + summer, Grail + autumn, Stone + winter. You can do them in any order and you don't have to do them in the season they are connected to although it can be nice to see and feel the seasonal energy around you as you work. Each quest also has a seasonal ritual connected to it - I enjoyed these but if you find them uncomfortable with your spiritual beliefs you can change or miss them out I suppose. I hope those who walk the path here will enjoy the journey. Blessed Be PathWalker )0( Edited November 21, 2019 by PathWalker
PathWalker Posted October 12, 2017 Author Posted October 12, 2017 Here are my question answers from when I began. Questions: 1. Review the seasons of the year in relation to your life: which season is easiest, and which most difficult for you? ***I ike the fruitfulness of autumn; the warmth, the colours. I find the lack of light and dampness of winter hard; it saps my joyfulness. 2. What kinds of weather are easiest/ most difficult? ***I love sunshine - clear skies, light. I don't enjoy strong heat, and seek shade in summer, but I love the sunlight. Grey dreary days with low light levels eventually depress me. 3. What is your best time of day? When does your energy become lowest? ***Best time of day - afternoon through to evening; the twilight, birds' evening song, stars emerging, walking in the dusk I am not a natural early riser, loving to lay in bed until the sun is well up. I need a kick-start (coffee) to energise me then. 4. Which is your natural element? ***Hard to say. Not air I don't think, nor fire. Earth or water I guess. (My astrological sign would make me Earth, but I do also love sea shore, rivers, water flowing, so hard to be certain.
