New Rule Regarding Privacy

Good morning Tarot Family!

As our home grows ever larger, and we have people from all over, I think it's important to bring forth a rule (that should have been there from the beginning, honestly!)

10. We take privacy seriously here.

Do not share PM's, or any other information given in confidentiality, including off-site client readings, or anything in which a person's information is identifiable.  This isn't just unethical, it can also raise legal concerns.  We would not wish to have our tarot home shut down.

Don't share readings done off-site without the client's permission to.  If given permission, please remove all identifying content, especially names.  Do not share PM's with one another without consent.  If you receive a PM that is harassment or advertising, there should be a button to report it to us, and only then will staff be able to read that particular message in order to solve the issue.  If you need to keep something really truly secure, I recommend emailing one another over using forum software.

Doxxing is a seriously big issue online, and please consider there may be people who don't want to be associated with reading tarot who are here to learn secretly, or people with the same circumstances who wouldn't want anybody to know that they are receiving readings, nor the content of said readings.  Please be considerate!

Have a lovely January.  Feel feel to reach out if needed!

Thank you Little Fang - that was much needed, I'm afraid :bubble_bthanks:

It should go without saying that people who share readings without permission shouldn't be doing readings. The only exception would be if the sitter was planning a violent crime of some sort, and that should be reported to the proper authorities,  not shared at a forum.

Other than that there is no excuse to share a reading without permission. Ever.

Relative strangers come to us and confide things that they can't tell anyone else. When a "reader" breaks confidentiality, they make all of us look bad. We ALL lose, because the client may well decide that it's not safe to confide in ANY of us.

Thanks for taking a stand on this, LF!
