AeonHorus Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) 6 ~ The Lady & The Lord:~ These two bring together the power of the divine Feminine and the divine Masculine and give rise to the ultimate energy. The two together have the power to create anything and everything so long as loyalty stands with them. They look like they are the Witch from the #1 card and the man in the Battle Wagon #7 card coming together for a secret liaison under their sacred tree which would bring the first seven cards of phase 1 to a nice close as they depart. Even though they are the Gemini twins, they do however have a choice for they do not need to be together they are not family born unto one another but they have surrendered themselves to each other in order to gain a higher fulfilment in life. He wears a tunic of ivy to suggest a connection and they stand united under an old oak tree which in itself means wisdom and truth, their two dogs stand loyally at their feet which is also significant to loyal friendships and protection. katrinka Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 I have to ask - and I am not throwing down the gauntlet, but I'm trying to understand why this deck is worthy of study - what's going on here? Why is the man wearing ceremonial Rex Nemorensis horns to go out bow hunting with his dogs? Why are the dogs so undersized for Pointers, and what are they doing in pagan Europe when the breed didn't exist until the 1600's? Why is the woman wearing a white dress with a train to muck around in the woods? Apologies, but none of this adds up for me.

Hahahaa I've not known you long @katrinka but I do get the feeling that if there is a gauntlet to chuck you will chuck it 🧤 Edited January 24, 2020 by AeonHorus
AeonHorus Posted January 24, 2020 Author Posted January 24, 2020 Do the cards have to be historically correct ? I wasn't aware of that in the Golden Dawns Rule book , nor did Crowlie 🐲 mention anything about it and he was quite the stickler for esoterical factoids. To me the message is quite clear that they are lovers under an oak tree offering their vows to one and other in what could possibly be a pagan handfasting ritual. Also where does the date of pre 1600's appear??? And when exactly was pagan Europe? I actually know people back in Yorkshire and other places in England who still dress like this for special occasions and frolics in the woods, there are many pagans still in England & Europe. As I mentioned before this could very well be a handfasting so that said, I would presume it to be special enough of an occasion to don on the old costumery and get down with nature. Bring the dogs too, hell it's the 21st century not the bloody dark ages 🚀

If not perfect, it's nice to see some effort, at the very least. 27 minutes ago, AeonHorus said: I wasn't aware of that in the Golden Dawns Rule book , nor did Crowlie 🐲 mention anything about it and he was quite the stickler for esoterical factoids. The Golden Dawn, and Crowley, aren't the only show in town. There are others. But my point wasn't any particular mode of interpretation, it was the art. The art strikes me as poorly researched. 27 minutes ago, AeonHorus said: To me the message is quite clear that they are lovers under an oak tree offering their vows to one and other in what could possibly be a pagan handfasting ritual. Possibly. But the horns? The Pointers? 27 minutes ago, AeonHorus said: Also where does the date of pre 1600's appear??? And when exactly was pagan Europe? Certainly long before Pointers were being bred. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointer_(dog_breed)#History 27 minutes ago, AeonHorus said: I actually know people back in Yorkshire and other places in England who still dress like this for special occasions and frolics in the woods, there are many pagans still in England & Europe. It would have to be modern reconstructed paganism. That doesn't explain why the Pointers are the size of Beagles, though. 27 minutes ago, AeonHorus said: As I mentioned before this could very well be a handfasting so that said, I would presume it to be special enough of an occasion to don on the old costumery and get down with nature. Too many red flags for me. Carry on.

Thats kool @katrinka, to be fair if you read my initial reactions I felt the same when it first came out. But then I struck out 'n' bought it and since I've been reading with it, it's grown on me. Hey if we all shone roses at everything then the world would seem grey right. To be honest I quite value your input. You speak your mind and I really respect that in a person 🤔
katrinka Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Merci! And for the record, I'm not saying it shouldn't exist or any of that. It's wonky, but a lot of us have a wonky deck or two that we like. I just wanted to point out the wonkiness.
AeonHorus Posted January 25, 2020 Author Posted January 25, 2020 Hahahaa yeah that's true. I have wonky decks that I don't use nor will I ever just as the Fairy Lights Tarot, which I think was the inspiration for the Prisma Vision Tarot, which incidentally I've just bought and I fear I'll never use lol. But they are beautiful decks 🙂 But anyway I digress lol
