...in a tin, no less.

1889 and 1926

(I like the wrapping paper enough that I cut it carefully and will continue to wrap the cards in it.)  8)

The 1889. Made to be used! Good quality, but not some uber-expensive thing you don't want to handle too much.

The 1926. No TrapperKeeper glitter!

The backs. Light and dark marbling, like endpapers in old books.

Thanks for this, katrinka! Love the tin as well.

Yup, I was curious about how this compares physically and price-wise to Lo Scarabeo's Golden Wirth. Those ones are yuuuuge! I'm not a huge fan of majors only decks, as I don't have the wherewithal yet to know how to deal with them by their lonesome. But the Wirth is absolutely compelling and aside from being historical, it's also buttressed by a firm esoteric system, so I would definitely add one to my collection in the future.

Btw, I noticed that majors-only decks do tend to be aesthetically striking, as if all the creativity and inspiration an artist would have otherwise spread on 78 cards have been concentrated in a potent brew in 22.

Yes. I heard back from Tag, she's got a nasty case of bronchitis so she closed the shop for a bit while she recuperates. It will be back.

This one well  within "normal Tarot size" range.  :D

I like Majors only decks. Sometimes I pull a few in tandem with a Lenormand spread or similar. Kind of like the way that I hear French readers read the Marseilles with the Majors separate from the Minors. Except in my case, the "pips" are Lenormand, Kipper, or Sibilla. It works great - you can view the Tarot as "causes", and the non-esoteric fortunetelling deck as "effects".

I'm sorry to hear that. Hope she gets well soon.
