Rose Lalonde Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Rose Lalonde - Asherah Tarot I think I might have some time to myself for tarot this weekend! I'm excited. :) Thanks, VG!
VGimlet Posted October 21, 2017 Author Posted October 21, 2017 Rose Lalonde - Asherah Tarot Thanks, VG! You are welcome! I liked the Asherah Tarot a lot, let me know what you think. I'm in with the Tarot of Transformation. Took me a bit to track it down, I think it's time to do a deck re-organization somehow....([glow=red,2,300]yikes[/glow]) I liked the Santa Muerte Tarot, but didn't get a chance to take any pictures. I liked it enough that it's going on my more later list, which is always a good thing.
Queen of Nothing Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 I didn't even touch my cards last week. I think i'll do the Wild Unknown again this week. And the ostara tarot, if i can catch up on my tarot challenges. Queen of Nothing - Wild Unknown, Ostara
Bodhiseed Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 I'm in with Kat Black's Golden Tarot paired with the Yantra Deck. Thanks for keeping us rolling VG!
GreenFaerie Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Hello everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm not signing up with a deck, as I haven't touched one in weeks. This semester has been a particularly special brand of exhausting. Fall semester is always bad, but I think this one is only second behind the very first semester I was hired as a full-time professor. All of that said, I miss being here and learning from and sharing with everyone! I hope you all are well. <3 :) I will certainly be back for Thanksgiving week and then over the holidays; we get a full week off at Thanksgiving and then about five weeks "off" over Christmas and January. (It's not really off; there's ridiculous amounts of class prep to do, obligatory meetings, and I will have writing and publishing obligations to deal with as well, but I will have more time for my cards.) Blessed Be!
jema Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Bohemian Gothic for me and Sigge this week. Skickat från min HTC Desire 626 via Tapatalk
ballerina Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Hi all and thanks VGimlet for organizing this here as you did on AT. I just received The Book of Shadows Complete for my birthday so I'm going to break into those decks (As Above and So Below) this week. Have a great week everybody. :)

Rose Lalonde Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 I found time for tarot, finally! I got to do an entry on this week's deck (Asherah) in the Comparative Tarot study group's Hermit card thread. A treat to come back here and have time early in the morning. :) Hello everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm not signing up with a deck, as I haven't touched one in weeks. This semester has been a particularly special brand of exhausting. Blessed Be! Not too long now before your week off at Thanksgiving. I know what you mean about looking forward to having time. I had free time a few months ago, but not much now, and like you I miss being here when I can't be. Enjoy the rest of your semester though! Rose Lalonde - Asherah Tarot Thanks, VG! You are welcome! I liked the Asherah Tarot a lot, let me know what you think. I enjoy it and feel like I learn from it. I like that there are obvious similarities to the RWS and Thoth but that - so far - the places where she does her own thing make sense to me as an alternate take on cards.
Bodhiseed Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Jema, that is one laid-back tarot reader! ;D

I am so glad that you got to spend some time with your cards this morning. :) It sounds like you are terribly busy as well. I hope things lighten up for you in the near future!
VGimlet Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 You are all very welcome! What a cute tarot reader jema! I have been there Greene Faerie - glad you are swinging by to say hi.
Trogon Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I didn't get to use my Sacred Circle Tarot as much as I had hoped. However ... I now have a new deck! (I will be revisiting the SST though. ;)). So, I'll be working with my Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot. Trogon - Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot and A'HA Oracle
Lantana Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I’ll be using the Wild Unknown Tarot and Animal Spirit Oracle again this week. Only ended up using them briefly last week because I ended up spraying the bedroom (again!) and being so busy in preparation for my wisdom teeth extraction surgery. Got them out yesterday and it turns out I am resistant to anesthesia :-\ so I am much more lucid than I had expected to be this week. I did use the two decks for a new moon reading, but I kind of rushed it and wasn’t happy with the resulting spread. I might do a do-over.
Trogon Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Hello everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm not signing up with a deck, as I haven't touched one in weeks. (It's not really off; there's ridiculous amounts of class prep to do, obligatory meetings, and I will have writing and publishing obligations to deal with as well, but I will have more time for my cards.) Blessed Be! Hi GreenFaerie! I'm glad you popped in to say "hi"! ;D I know what you mean about Fall semester. I've been working at a university for 30 years. Fall semester is always the busiest. And, since enrollment has continued to climb (and we don't get more people), this has been one of our busiest. Of course, it doesn't help that I've just returned from 2 1/2 weeks off, to work Friday and Saturday nights. ::) And I too really look forward to those "breaks" of Thanksgiving, Christmas, then Spring break ... we finally get to catch our breath. It's ironic that, when I took time off from work, I was too busy to do much work with my Tarot decks. Still, I got some things done around the house and quite a bit of work done on the car. And ... I was able to get a new deck! The Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot is now one of my favorites! ;D My short review in the Decks forum is here; https://www.thetarotforum.com/tarot-decks/new-deck-(for-me)-nicoletta-ceccoli-tarot/ and that includes a link to the New Deck reading I did with it. I would add that I used it for my daily reading on my eating issues yesterday afternoon and it is pretty easy to read with. I am liking the fact that the deck doesn't have titles on the Majors, just a Roman Numeral at the top, and only a single suit emblem at the top, with a number (or court emblem) at the bottom on the Minors. I think it actually frees my mind a bit. Also, some ... actually many of the images are a little "creepy" looking. I'll probably be using it through Halloween. One really good example is the 2 of Cups (see attachment) ... It kind of reminds me of the Grady Twins from "The Shining". But even with the slight creep factor, the images are so dream-like that I think it will work very well for readings.

Trogon, thank you for my first laugh this morning!:D GreenFaerie, I hope your studies go well and that you find some time to play soon! I've been pasting an entry from my blog each week with the decks I'm using; it's the one way I know how to 'talk' about them. I hope this is not inappropriate or annoying? If so, please let me know (I promise I won't be offended!)
Bodhiseed Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 This week I'll be using the Golden Tarot, created by Kat Black and published by U.S. Games. Along with it, I'll be drawing from the Yantra Deck, created by Karl Schaffner and Maya Deva Adjani. It was published by Vayu Publishing. Today's cards are the Four of Wands and 'Devotion:' A few women prepare a basin for washing, possibly for all the barefoot dancers in the background. If there is music, dance, food and drink, there is sure to be some type of celebration happening. But my eye is drawn to the three archways - the one with a garland of fruit, the one made of stone and earth, and the entrance to the castle. From foreground to background, each one has been built with increasing care and skill. Arches are structures capable of spanning a space while supporting a significant weight. Symbolically, they are passageways (created by their ability to support). The yantra of Devotion implies a deeply felt commitment. The booklet suggests that when such love is present, hindrances become 'doorways to greater understanding' rather than obstacles of hardship. I see such devotion all the time in the way a parent cares for a disabled child, the patience of an adult child with his or her aging parent, and the love bestowed on an animal adopted from a shelter. What better reason could there be to celebrate than such tender, open-hearted commitments? Let’s not be afraid to receive each day’s surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy. It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity. ~ Henri Nouwen
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 For me, it's the Modern Spellcaster's Tarot again this week. :)

One of the silver linings of losing AT is that in DotW there are readings and more images right in posts, so I feel like I get to know people's decks better. :)
Bookworm Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 I'm hoping to have a little time this week, so I'm in with my Daniloff. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

EmpyreanKnight Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 For me, it's the Modern Spellcaster's Tarot again this week. :) I decided to work with the Sola Busca too this week. I guess it's just inevitable. :) EmpyreanKnight - Modern Spellcaster's Tarot + Tarocchi Sola Busca
Page of Ghosts Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 Trying out my new Goddess Tarot by Kris Waldherr this week! Page of Ghosts - The Goddess Tarot Waldherr's Goddess Tarot is beautiful beyond belief. ❤ Did you get the one with the companion book, Page of Ghosts? Yes, I got the set with the book ;D I am a bit annoyed with the deck/book sets from US Games just because I store decks and books seperately unless they're in a solid set like the Wild Unknown, so the little cardboard box things are just sitting in my bookshelf empty because I can't find out what I wanna do with them. Maybe I could cut out the from and use it for something... Other than that I like the sets a lot since they're affordable and decent quality deck and bookwise. I'm surprised at how much I like the decorative borders. I didn't use to like borders a lot before but that's changed a lot during the 8 months and I actually don't mind them much now. For the goddesses and the book there are some things I don't quite think matches up with my ideas of certain cards but I don't wanna get stuck with what I know so I'm trying to keep an open mind when working with it. So far I think I'm doing alright and believe this deck could surely show some new sides to cards I think I know already.
