DC419 Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 I'm a little late but I'd like to work with my Santa Muerte deck this week!
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 Glad to know you're getting along well with your new deck, Page of Ghosts! :D On the other hand, I really think I should get a Santa Muerte Tarot for myself. I'm still on the fence tho.
GreenFaerie Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 Hi GreenFaerie! I'm glad you popped in to say "hi"! ;D I know what you mean about Fall semester. I've been working at a university for 30 years. Fall semester is always the busiest. And, since enrollment has continued to climb (and we don't get more people), this has been one of our busiest. Of course, it doesn't help that I've just returned from 2 1/2 weeks off, to work Friday and Saturday nights. ::) And I too really look forward to those "breaks" of Thanksgiving, Christmas, then Spring break ... we finally get to catch our breath. Hi Trogon, I know misery loves company, and I am kind of glad to know that I am not the only one feeling this way about fall semester! But, I am sorry you are feeling that same stress and busy-ness. Like you, we only keep getting more enrollments, and yet we don't get more staff and faculty, and so everyone is busier and has more demands on their plates. It's hard. But, Thanksgiving is only a month away! I've been dying for the break for a couple of weeks now - our academic calendar doesn't have a fall break, so we go from about August 20 to Thanksgiving without stopping. They built a fall break back into next year's calendar, after a lot of push from the faculty and the commuter and online students. Sorry, I digress! This is definitely not tarot related. :) But I hope things slow down for you as well. And Samhain is in a few days, so that will be good, too, a small chance to take a breath. :)
GreenFaerie Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 GreenFaerie, I hope your studies go well and that you find some time to play soon! I've been pasting an entry from my blog each week with the decks I'm using; it's the one way I know how to 'talk' about them. I hope this is not inappropriate or annoying? If so, please let me know (I promise I won't be offended!) Thank you, Bodhiseed! I appreciate it. :) And I really like your weekly blog entries; it's nice to see what you draw and have a look at the different images from different decks. It's very relaxing. <3
VGimlet Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 I'm a little late but I'd like to work with my Santa Muerte deck this week! It's never too late. 8) Although I was a little late getting caught up, but we are. I am really enjoying the Tarot of Transformation. Good thing, since I'll be working with it for awhile.
Trogon Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I've been pasting an entry from my blog each week with the decks I'm using; it's the one way I know how to 'talk' about them. I hope this is not inappropriate or annoying? If so, please let me know (I promise I won't be offended!) I've been enjoying your blog entries. It's a good way for us to learn a bit more about the deck you're using. I am finding that the Nicoletta Ceccoli Tarot is a (ahem) "dream" to work with! ;D Although the card meanings are based in the RWS standard, the images are worlds apart. But even though the images wander wildly away from Waite's and Smith's, they are packed full of intuition-grabbing symbolism. And yes, I am still finding much that is - eerie at the very least, if not downright macabre - it is still whimsical and fanciful. As I'd commented before, pretty much all of the images feel like they've come right out of my (or someone else's) dreams. But they have a way of making me chuckle or outright laugh at times. Yesterday I did my daily reading on the daily struggle with controlling my eating. Of course, the center is all decorated for Halloween, and there is Halloween candy everywhere! Hugely tempting of course. The first card (the "issue" for the day), I drew the Hierophant. I wrote the note; "Traditional holiday traditions are traditional! (LOL)" (Yes, I wrote "LOL" in my notebook. ::))
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 When you fling me a question and I can hone on it with a laser focus, I can perform admirably. Now I'm going to do everything I can to improve when it comes to general readings.
