Nanook Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Yay or Nay? I keep putting it in my cart and taking it out. https://www.etsy.com/listing/465460097/the-distant-past-tarot-deck-poker-size
EmpyreanKnight Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 I'm not really into photorealistic decks and it's also poker-sized, so it would be a no for me.
Carojulie Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 I say yeah. I have it and it is reliable and nice to look at, very blue, warm and fresh like a scented summery breeze... I smile each time I see it, plus the cardstock is nice (not high end luxury, but nice) It is essentially a RWS type deck, only a tad softer than usual : the "scary" cards are less scary than usual (like there is nobody screaming in their fall to death on the tower card, the death card is renamed....) I am usually not after such "sugary" decks but it is always handy to have at least one available, for these times when you are reading for fun at parties and dont want to go into all the explanations about cards, and you also dont want to spoil the mood of the party if your non-tarot-savvy friend pulls the death card with the ten of swords and the devil. The artist who made the deck says she designed it for her child, and it makes sense. Like I said, I find it handy to have at least one such deck in my collection. Each time I have used it, I had compliment on it. The poker size makes it very portable, but if it is too small for you, this deck is also available in standare size and large size. The artist is super nice, and used to be a member at AT, she was very sweet. Tell us what you decide in the end ? good luck !

I truly believe that we should have one totally "inoffensive" deck in our collection too, so just yesterday I bought Virtue's Guardian Angel Tarot, because I just can't at the Angel Tarot's digital art and used-and-reused images. No kidding, and yeah it's for realzies. ;) I kinda like how sweet and tender it is, and I feel like it would be a nice counterpoint to the Lucifer's Tarot deck I just purchased through my US source.
Quester Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 This is a beautiful deck!! I love the vibrant colors and it is easy to read with.
Nanook Posted November 1, 2017 Author Posted November 1, 2017 I gave in and ordered the tarot-sized deck. I am weak

Yeah, I keep a Connolly around for that reason. You get the occasional bucket-of-raw-nerves client, and the last thing they need to see is their future unfolding on the table full of corpses, even if they're metaphorical. If you like it, get it.
EmpyreanKnight Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 I agree, katrinka. Methinks the Guardian Angel Tarot would be a good winter deck. :) Enjoy your Distant Path Tarot, Nanook. :)

Cocobird55 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 The Distant Past is one of my favorite decks. It has a peaceful feeling for me, and always makes me smile.
