The Longest Path

Someone asked about the High Priestess... And I can't really cover a topic as long as this one in a forum post, but I could try covering a little of it here. Without technical stuff, the ladder of Jacob and all that, just the essence of the transition.

So lets look at the path from somethings center to its source. The Tree of Life can be complicated to follow sometimes and it happens that at this point something surprising, wonderful and extremely challenging to explain happens with it, so instead of going into that lets look purely logically that path in the world around us.
That would be the path from somethings center traveling to its nearest source. From Heart to Head, from Qi to Shen, from Second line of each Trigram to the Third line of each Trigram, from Identity to Origin, from Thoracic Cavity to Cranial Cavity, from Middle Field to Upper Field and from basically all Centers to their all nearest Source.

Traditionally that path is assigned the high priestess. If we look at Crowleys deck, for example many of the Images are wonderful for it. The camel, as its the longest path, we can always follow deeper and deeper where we come from, so that never ends, suggesting a great journey and the camel so adapt at  conserving its needs is suited for that.
The giant net preventing people from falling so needed when one is restructuring what they actually are. Ironically the only Image that seems fully out of place is the High Priestess herself, as that type of "restructuring" doesn't have much to do with her at all. Yet that has been covered in other places, so lets leave it aside for now. In his deck, however, she standing in the middle of the Stars looking like a Star by herself was a good way to compensate for that.

And my favorite Image for this path here is the Stars behind her, showing that this path is very connected to the Stars.

Why the Stars...

Well, because this path similar to "where we come from", gets longer and longer the more we walk on it. The Stars carry similar Images, we try to get to them, lets say with a spaceship one day, humanity as a whole tries to do that, yet as soon as we approach the nearest one, all of the others pull away. There is still Stars infinitely far away and never possible to fully "get to", yet we did indeed expand, we had arrived further then ever before to one of them, we just technically can never arrive at all of them at the same time.

This expansion of the path is what is the important point here.

Another way to view it, can be the transition from the Heart to the Head. That goes through the Throat, logically and the center there is one that I loved to remind people, few decades ago, that it isn't what it looks like.
It seems very easy to work with and open that one. By definition one should be "truthful to what they are" when communicating and interacting, as long as they are the Throat opens up.
The Trick here, however, have always been that for that to work one has to actually know what they are. If we don't know that, we can never be truthful to oneself, no matter how much we may want to be. And that journey of knowing oneself is always open ended. We will always know more and more, but the totality of what we actually are will always slip away, the more we learn, as its just too much to fully realize at once.
So again this movement of pulling away, while one walks on it. The more we learn, the more there is to learn, so it seems like a path one can travel too and arrive at the end of it, but its a path that while we travel pulls the end further away.

From Kabbalistic perspective technically the Tree "expands" at this point, same "pulling" of the End point happens in Sephirot and that is sometimes called "the Jacobs ladder" as he dreams the geometry expands higher and higher... But even if we don't focus on the Tree, the essence of the path is that, one arrives where they wanted to go, to their "origin", to a "source" they had, and with that, the "origin" of that "origin", the "source" of that "source, suddenly becomes visible, showing a while new path in front of them.
