My experience publicly veiling for the first time!
So today I decided to try public veiling for the first time as an offering to Lord Loki. I know veiling isn't necessarily traditional to Norse polytheism, but I felt like it was a good offering for him since I didn't have any physical ones on hand. I go to a public high school in a pretty... "monotheistic" part of my southern state, so I was a bit nervous at first, but so far it's been great! No one's really questioned it, most people just don't really notice. It's a crocheted bandanna I made a while back (I have one for Lord Eros, too (I'm an eclectic polytheist)) so it could just look like a typical accessory to most people. The thing I was most worried about was that a staff member would see it and tell me to take it off, since I guess it could technically be considered a hat, but that hasn't happened either. So far today, I've found something on the ground I'm going to use to make a necklace, and a book on Norse mythology was returned to the library when I went in to look for a book, so I got to check that out too! I've also felt something all day, I'm not very good with energies and I don't have any clair-senses (yet!), but I've felt a strong, playful energy with me all day, so I think it might be him. I think he liked my offering! I love working with a trickster god, I never really know what'll happen next and I'm pretty impulsive so I like to go with it. (as long as it's nothing bad, which I don't really have happen to me very often, at least not from Lord Loki.) Another offering I made a while back is that I gave him the first bite of my Chipotle quesadilla and he surprisingly seemed to enjoy it.
Unrelated, but I also gave Lord Apollo the first bite of my Nature Valley Wafer bar this morning and asked for energy, and when I got to school I found out my school sells iced coffee in the mornings and I got to buy one. When I get home I'm probably going to make a love spell jar for my partner and dedicate it to Lord Eros as well, so I'm pretty excited!
